Oddly, at this stage I'm in love with almost everyone except Betty. I say 'almost' because I am not in love with Hilda, and definately not in love with Walter. I will put up with Hilda, though, if Walter will please die.
Oh, not keen on Sofia either, but I'm thinking there's at least hope that she will go away. There is, right? |

Amanda and her compulsive stress eating are one of my favorite parts of the show.
-------------------- I guess you could say it's extremely vulgar. I like it a lot.

Zap2It reported today that Christopher Gorham (Henry) has been added as a recurring character. Hooray! Maybe TPTB will finally get rid of Walter.

I hope so. The whole Mary Sue thing is annoying. Plus, her presence just throws everything off over at the Manhattan side for me. I don't know how quite to explain it - it's like Daniel's whole storyline is revolving around her and it's just tedious. The other supporting characters [with the exception of Walter] rock though. I love the fact that Amanda's way of speaking makes it sound as if she's saying something sexual even when she's just talking about stuff like flan. |

Salma Hayek's ego is threatening to destroy the show. The show is called Ugly Betty not Giant Boobed Sofia.

I liked Salma on the show at first, but I thought it was just a three-episode arc. I don't want the show to revolve around her, or around Daniel's love life.
Oh, I do hope they get rid off Walter. He's not a catch for anyone, much less someone as sweet, smart, and adorable as Betty. |

I'm incredibly excited by this news. Henry is a much more suitable boyfriend for Betty. They're adorable together! I hope this means that Walter's days are numbered. -------------------- Hot dog! Jumping frog! Alma cookies!

Yeah, I'm still not sure how she goes from someone who can casually cheat on her boyfriend, to someone who rejects Daniel for not being ready to settle down. It's just a deeply stupid storyline. I get that they thought they might need a ratings grabber, but the show's doing fine, so it's time to dump Salma. I really thought she was only in for 2-3 eps, so every week when I tune in and she's STILL there, I'm already let down by the episode. Even her scenes with Betty, it's like Cliched Dialogue 101, with all the inspirational, "you go, girl" speechifying.
I actually don't hate Walter though. I don't want him with Betty, but I think he'd be fine as a supporting neighborhood character who popped up every so often. |

I would rather see more Fey and Sofia than Walter. That's how much I hate him. Thank goodness they're bringing back Henry - he's so cute with Betty and not at all soggy and drippy.
Now that Daniel's soft side has been drilled into our skulls, they can go back to making him a jerky playboy. |

For some reason this show fell off my radar before it even aired, so the last episode was actually my first.
Wow, what a way to be introduced to a series-- I can't remember the last time I watched a sitcom and I laughed at least once in every scene. My favorite characters so far are Daniel and the girl who compulsively eats-- Amber? Also, I kind of love Fay, too. But the show just got a spot on my TiVo's Season Pass-- on the condition that I can FF through the Saint!McBoobies!Sophia scenes. |

I want Salma Hayek to go back to being the maid in the telenovela. That was a funnier use of her character.

I LOVE this show; that was an awesome episode. It was funny, and sweet, and if Betty doesn't jump Henry's bones she needs to pass him on to me. Also Daniel and Betty are really cute together (in a good friends way).

The entire Hilda/Dad forcing crappy Walter onto Betty is infuriating to me. Especially now that I see how sweet she and Henry are together. Even if it's just infatuation with Henry, Walter clearly doesn't hold her interest anymore. Plus, he SUCKS.

Seriously, when Hilda was giving Betty that "Walter loves you so much" speech, I was mentally sceaming, "So that's why he cheated on her? Because he loves her so much. And then came back to Betty when the girl he cheated on her with dumps him. Yeah, Walter is a real catch."
My favorite line from tonight is Amanda explaining to Marc why no one in their office has a gun. "We're hungry, bitchy, and angry. No one in their right minds would give us a gun." |

I hate Hilda a little bit for encouraging Betty to stay with Walter and for crumpling up Henry's phone message. Why should Betty feel forced into staying with a relationship with Walter? She can obviously do much better, and Walter only pulls her down. I'm glad at least that he showed some growth in this episode and said that he was willing to try to accept her new job lifestyle more, but he is so obviously not right for her.
I hated how this show did one of those classic misunderstanding scenes with Henry kissing the lingerie model and Betty not seeing him push her away. At least they are keeping Betty uncertain of her romantic future, with her having doubts about being with Walter and getting sweaty palms and dreaming about Henry. Marc thinking that Wil was going to kill him was hilarious. He got a new car out of the deal! I'm ready for Sofia to be gone, like, yesterday. Jessica brought up an interesting speculation in her TWoP recap that Sofia was creating the drama with the possible marriage to Hunter to draw out Daniel's feelings about her. Given the way that she acted in the beginning of the episode, I can see how that could be true. I think that Sofia will end up being or doing something unexpected, because I can't see Daniel staying with her much longer or Betty leaving Mode permanently. -------------------- Hot dog! Jumping frog! Alma cookies!
