So. Great sitcom or greatest sitcom? Discuss.

Greatest sitcom. It has dethroned Arrested Development for me. Yes, it's a standard 3 camer sitcom. But dammit, it's funnier and better than it has any right to be.

Slap bet!

I tell you, I nearly fainted from lack of oxygen when Marshall just hauled off on Barney during the Slap Bet. I hope they use those remaining four slaps throughout the rest of the series... or save them for the finale.

Looking at any show that can give us Robin Sparkles, I do not understand how you can even ask.

This is the only current sitcom I'm watching at the moment.

I'm not sure what made me laugh more--Robin Sparkles or hunchbacked Lilly.

And admit it. You listen to "Let's Go to the Mall" all the time too.

I'm going to get the DVDs so the studio will have to put out season two.

I've been singing Let's Go To The Mall for like two weeks straight now. And really, I kinda want to go to the mall now.

Ha! I was about to post, "So, where's Swarley?"

I'm always impressed by how well the show nails the absurdities of mid-twenties life in a way Friends never did. The Marshall/Ted sword fight? Hysterical, and something I could totally see my boyfriend doing with his best friend.

Swarley made me realize that I should've thought to change my username to "slutty pumpkin".

I guess that would have left Hunchbacked Lilly as my HIMYM screen name.

You could always be Robin Sparkles.

No, I can't. There can only be one Robin Sparkles and I am not her. I don't have the dance moves, jelly bracelets, or denim jacket. Our rap skills are about the same though.

Not "Ted Mosby, Architect"?

That is beyond awesome. Brilliant!

Thank you for that. I love the chemistry this cast has. I have to say, I saw a few episodes last season and didn't think this show was funny at all, but the three or four I've seen this season have been great. It's not laugh-out-loud funny for me, but there's something so unique about the humour, despite how utterly conventional it is in a lot of ways. It kind of reminds me of Friends. The slap bet killed me. And I have watched the Robin Sparkles video way too many times. "I'm going to rock your body 'til Canada Day!"

For me, the Robin Sparkles episode had to be the best episode of any sitcom since Friends. It even beats The Office, which is saying a lot. I've loved this show since the very beginning. I love the cast, the continutity, the side plots, everything. Now if only it can get nominated for some Emmys.

The Boy is always saying "But that's how I Roland!" He was amused when I told him that I joined a message board and picked Swarley for my username.

"Remember the time Lily kicked Korean Elvis in the nards?"

I kept missing this when it was shown over here! Loved the episodes I did see, though - so, so funny. The swordfight was actually amazing. I hope the dvds are out in the UK, actually, because if so I can see a potential use for any money I may get at Christmas...

It does remind me of Friends (which I love), but in a very good way.

I thought last season was decent but the show has really stepped it up a notch this year. I think part of it is because Ted is no longer desperately trying to find the Mother of His Children in every girl he talks to. That got old after a while. Now that he's with Robin, the show can focus on the other characters more.

I hope the show ends with Ted meeting the mother in the very last episode. I don't want another character ruining the dynamic of these five friends.

I think it's interesting to know already that Ted and Robin won't ultimately end up together. It's different.

As a law student, I have to appreciate the law student jokes. Because they're all true, especially Marshall's song:
"Studying law. Making a responsible choice for my future. On a Friday night... Being a lawyer had better be awesome."

I hope we see Jane Seymour as his professor again. She was really funny and Barney should be recovered from his hip problem by now, should he?

Grading Barney as her lover:

"I give you a C-. You're oral presentation was sloppy and inconclusive."

I just spent the afternoon burning all the season 2 episodes to give my friends as stocking stuffers for Christmas, and in the process I think I have burned the "Let's Go to the Mall" song into my brain.

I have a bit of a crush on Marshall.

"My nose is full of awesome..."

I love sick Barnacle.
