Yeah I guess we'll find out for sure on Monday. Who knows. Maybe it'll be like Robert Downey Jr, and we'll all be like "LETS FORGET THIS INTERNET DISCUSSION EVER HAPPENED."
Can I just say Lainey is CREEPY, when it comes to Kristin Stewart. I think the more she likes Stewart the more she dislikes Robert Pattinson for some bizarre reason. -------------------- Are you calling me irrational? Because I'll tear your head off, Daniel. See with Sherlock Holmes and Iron Man 2 coming, RDJ would make an excellent SMA.

This linked me to a pic of Stephanie Meyer. Which did not really make your post less accurate. Eh, if bathing was a pre-cursor to a SMA title, Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp never would've made it. |

Does he climb out of bed and throw on some clothes? What do all these girls see in him that's so sexy?

I think a lot of Twilight fans conflate him with Edward Cullen, so they go super crazy because instead of OOH CUTE BOY IN A MOVIE it's OMG IT'S EDWARD WE'RE SOULMATES PLEASE BITE ME!!!!1!11!
Can I just say that I've been disappointed in his commitment to Sparkle Motion this time around? I don't know if it's because the focus of New Moon is more on Jacob or because Summit threatened him with the hammer of Thor or what, but he hasn't said anything particularly zany or hilarious during this press junket. |

I actually thought he looked good at the premiere. I mean for him thats remarkably well groomed. Although do he and Kristin Stewart only have enough hot water for one at a time?
I can kinda see why they are attracted to him. Underneath the grime hes a beautiful boy. And he seems funny and charming and kinda nice. And he plays a role designed to attract tween girls. Frankly if I was 12 I'd adore him. -------------------- Are you calling me irrational? Because I'll tear your head off, Daniel. I'll tear it off and I'll throw it over that fence. -Kim Kelly

He has an interview with an Irish magazine that's out now where he says that unlike people in L.A. who get drunk and look great, he stumbles around like an Irish alcoholic. Then he realises who he's talking to. If the reporter took any offence, it doesn't show in the interview. So he's still able to say the wrong thing at times.
OME, he namechecked my country!!!! Squeee!!11111!!!!! Etc. -------------------- "I saw something sparkly in the woodshed!" - rat kitten rat in the Current Reads thread.

I don't know -- I'm far from 12 and I adore him, as I think I've said one or a few million times. I find him both truly beautiful and hilarious. There are some pictures where I think he looks really off, but then there are others that nearly take my breath away.
As for the cleanliness thing -- well, as long as I don't have to smell him (if he does, indeed, smell bad at times), then I don't much care, other than a passing thought of "Oh, Rob...a little soap and water won't melt you, trust." I just love the guy...not in a scary, stalker way, but just in a sort of amused, sensible way. I hope. -------------------- "You know, people underestimate the value of a good ramble." -- Buffy Summers

Yup, I adore him too and I'm nowhere near 12. I HATED Edward when I read the books too, so it's not that. I just find him really charming and I think there's something so perfect about the poster boy for the biggest teen fandom around actually being kind of the opposite of what a teen dreamboat should be. I think Lautner fits the bill perfectly, but Rob's just a bit too strange and candid to fit the mold that I think many want to cram him into. It'll be really interesting to see what happens with his non-Twilight work.

Well I mean like I said I like him quite a bit. I meant adore as in, I would have his picture in my locker and like, bought teen beat for him.

Oh, head's up for those that care. He's on Letterman tonight. The thought of the two of them together is a little scary. If the interview is the least bit comprehensible or professional, I'll be a bit disappointed.

Oh man, this is either going to be amazing or horribly awkward. Probably both. I'm kind of excited about this.
I thought it was really weird during Twilight's promotion that they sent him to Leno and Kristen Stewart to Letterman. I guess it made sense from a viewership standpoint since Leno had the best ratings. It's just... for someone as introverted as Kristen is, setting Letterman on her was a really bad idea, and her interview was a disaster because of it. |

Oh, he's said plenty of hilarious things! Like when he was laughing about the Edward Cullen sex toy, and how he'd like to make his own Rob Pattinson sex toy... except that his wouldn't work properly. Bwah, hahaa! And when he was asked which fictional character he'd like to meet, and he said, "Flounder from The Little Mermaid, because it must be so difficult to be a talking fish. Or Sebastian, the crab! That crab can SING!" I adore him. And I'm not at all ashamed to admit it! And I'm in no way 12. And I hate Edward Cullen. I really prefer him looking a bit grotty and unwashed. Clean and shaven (Edward!) just doesn't work on him. |

Remember Me trailer!
So okay, I actually liked it. However, I've also realized I have NO objectivity anymore when it comes to him. I can totally see the potential for crappiness, and for sure the family stuff looks more interesting than the "whimsical" romance plot, and I'm haunted by the memories of the initial spoilers, but yeah, I still liked it. Someone with more ability to pull back may need to give their take. Hee. |

I'm more on the "would be his stoner buddy" than "dazzled" side of things, does that provide more objectivity?
Also, I've only ever seen him in Goblet of Fire and Twilight, so that's my baseline for his talent or lack thereof. That said, the movie itself doesn't interest me in the slightest but his acting... actually looks pretty good in this. Huh. Though I can't tell if he's supposed to be American or not. GET A DIALECT COACH, ROB. |

OK. Since I also think he's awesome and not 12, I watched and decided that it looks good. Perhaps enough for the early bird showing.
But I decided to show it to a friend of mine who thinks he's creepy to get her opinion in case I had lost all objectivity. She said that she would rent it, but she's not exactly sure what it's about. Which, honestly, neither am I. -------------------- "Do you kinda look like a shiny Sheldon?"

It just looks like a classic coming of age/romance thing. Rebellious young rich boy finds unexpected love >>before 9/11....occurs<< Heh, IDK. There are so few straight forward (non comedy, non genre) romances anymore that I kind of like it on that marketing merit alone.

That punch at the start of the trailer is really bad. Heh.
And so is his New York accent, I think. And I rolled my eyes at the "I eat my dessert first" thing. Why can't there just be a nice girl in a movie? Why do they always have to have these random wacky traits to try and make them seem endearing? But apart from that, it looks okay. But I'd pay good money to go see Robert Pattinson recite the telephone directory, so whatever! |
