I always liked Robert Pattinson. Then Twilight happened. Now I like him in the way that you like a frightened and abused puppy - you just kind of want to give it a warm bed and a cuddle and some munchies and let it sleep for a while.

(Not gonna lie, though, I'm excited about the Dali movie.)

I always liked that part in Goblet of Fire where Harry's telling Cedric about the dragons and he kind of stops and goes, "Seriously?" Of course, there were a ton of really great line readings in that movie.

I also enjoy watching news segments where the anchors clearly have no idea who he is (nor should they) or why thousands of women would be rioting to get two seconds in His Presence.

Poor, unwashed puppy of a boy. If he lives through this, he might be someone interesting to watch in the future. Right now, he's too pretty and too in the spotlight.

He is cute but I really fear he'll become a E! True Hollywood story. Or he'll go nutso like Joaquin Phoenix apparently did.

I'm also really excited about Little Ashes. I think Dali is fascinating; it'll be interesting to see a portrayal of his transition from a man that was scared of practically everything to an extrovert.

I was hoping he had a thread now, because I need somewhere to vent my horror over how much I like "Never Think." D: I can't help it! It's just strummy and simple and sort of Ray LaMontagne-esque. Damn you and your hair!

I always did kinda like him in GoF (although it was Amos who makes me cry every single time. Like, majorly.) I am assuming there is some boykissing in Little Ashes, yes? How will the Twihards react to this?

Apparently there's a whole sex scene? I don't know how long or how graphic, but... yeah. Heads will asplode.

I'm just terrified of The Mustache. See... I have pre-existing Salvador Dali issues.

I think it was E Talk tonight (or whatever is on after E Talk?), where he and the interviewer were talking about how everyone screaming in the background is in love with him...

"They're in love with the character. They wouldn't be in love with me."

Or something to that effect. Ah, it's not that you're Edward in my case, RPattz.

ETA: UNF, man sex! Yay.

I feel so bad for this guy. The fact he may have to make three of these movies as Edward just hurts my poor soul. As the Twlight madness has grown, my empathy for him increases. No wonder he self-medicates. I know I'd be a wreck if I was him.

I have seen pictures of Robert Pattinson's Dali mustache and it is very ridiculous-looking. I can't help but look at it and giggle. But apparently, it's accurate.

I can't believe how calm his hair looks in those Dali pictures. They must have done some heavy duty wrangling on that set.

I can feel badly for RPatz for the first film because I can believe he didn't know what he was getting into, but not for signing the contract to make the second and third. He can say no even if he was offered points and a $20 million salary.

...I'm picturing, like, a stylist with a whip and a chair, while his hair flails around like Doc Ock or something. Awesome.

I too just want to hold his hand and tell him that there's a whole fleet of sane, non-shrieking Twimockers who love him for his fear of the other fangirls. We'll protect him! He need a Sparkle Protection Program! Suit up, y'all!

He does seem genuinely enthusiastic about getting to drama queen in at the end of the second movie, so maybe it's not all doom and gloom.

Maybe the movies are really fun to make? I like to think all the film people are in on the joke, and they find the sparkling vampires as hilarious as we do. And then he found out out that lots and lots of people are unhealthily involved with his character. It's just so...I mean, at least the Beatles were, you know, the Beatles. Like...how do you respond to that level of obsessive fangirling? (Well, after you stop washing your hair.)

Hardwicke doesn't seem to be in on the joke because she said in EW that the story was a more sophisticated Romeo & Juliet. Please correct me if I'm wrong but she definitely seemed to be trying to elevate the material into something more than it is because I remember reading her take on Twilight and then throwing EW down in disgust. (A common occurence these days but I did it more forcefully this time.)

He might have been required to sign a contract for the first one that requires him to do sequels if the studio demands it. Happens all the time when the star doesn't have that much negotiating power.

Actually, the studio didn't sign the cast for the sequels so he could have gotten out. I remember being really surprised when I heard that because usually they do lock the actors into a contract.

Oh damn, that is surprising. I assumed they had b/c since there are more books and if the movie is a hit... well, duh is all I can come up with!

That first Little Ashes pic jcpdiesel linked is great! It looks like some Twilight freak's boyfriend got pissed off and drew a mustache on his photo. But oddly enough, there's more than just the mustache making him look like Dali in that picture.

I'm surprised at how amateurishly Summit has handled the movies from not locking the actors up in a contract for a sequel and doing little to discourage the crazy fan behaviour.
