I'm working in IT as a programmer at a data processing center. I'm single and still live at home with my family and our two cats.

You know what I hate about that? It's always non-natives who say that crap. And then they go, "Oh but not you, of course." Well, thanks for insulting me AND my hometown!

So about me. I'm a native Angelena. I'm slightly older than 30, but I'm playing the girl card and I refuse to elaborate. I am neither shallow, nor lipo'ed, nor botoxed. But I do have highlights. I got rid of my convertible. I think 50 degrees Farenheit is Freezing Cold.

And I found 2.0 after years of lurking at FT. I don't think I ever posted there. Now ya can't shut me up.

Hee, 70 degrees is pretty cold for me. I wouldn't mind it right now, though, because it's December and still too hot to wear my long-sleeved clothing. So annoying!

Finally, some proud fellow Angelenos! I suggest that anyone visiting our fair city spend ample time in the Los Feliz and Silverlake neighborhoods so that they get an idea of what normal Angelenos live like. So many assumptions made about the people who live here are based on the richies from Beverly Hills and those working within the entertainment industry. Sorry for the rants, but L.A.-bashing just really bugs the shit outta me.

OT, sorry!

I travelled around the US in Aug / Sep this year, and LOVED LA. Everybody told me, "You'll hate LA. It's awful." But I loved it! It's fun and bright and pretty and the people are fun, and we had a great time there.

I also loved New York. People looked at me crazy when I told them I loved both LA and New York, like it's a sin to love both, but they were both so exciting and fun, in their own way.

Hmmm, is there anywhere to talk about stuff like this, in an on-topic manner?!

Okay, well I've been lurking for ages...I had a screen name at the old forum, but I don't remember which one I used. Though I was puzzled when *none* of my usual screen names seemed to work. Anyway, I read a lot, but rarely posted.

I am also a Californian, third generation. I'm up here in Kern county though...I get a bit antsy in the city. I'll visit my mom and sister down in OC, but prefer the mountains to live in. I'm 40, got three kids, two still at home. I like movies and music and my kids are big into them as well, so it works out. In fact, we speak in movie quotes and dialog on a pretty regular basis, which my husband thinks is dorky and weird beyond belief. It doesn't stop him from attempting it on occasion though. ;)
