How Long by Ace. I'm pretty sure that this band was a one hit wonder.

Bob Dylan's take on "Barbara Allen". My dad once said it was the most beautiful song he's ever heard, and I'm close to agreeing.

"And I Am Telling You I Am Not Going" from Dreamgirls. Jennifer Hudson is SO AMAZING on that song.

The Indigo Girls covering "Tangled Up in Blue". How did I not know about these girls before?

Cupid's Chokehold, by Gym Class Heroes. It is awesome, and I can't stop listening.

You didn't? For real? Try Amy Ray's cover of what I'm listening to now, Dire Straits' "Romeo and Juliet." I actually came here to look for Songs that Make Me Cry, because this is one of them, but saw this first.

ETA: Heh, iTunes threw the Indigo Girls' version at me two songs later.

Oh God, that cover destroys me, man.

In other news, I have discovered Abigail Zsiga and lo, she rocks. "Better With You" is the single that hooked me, and I picked up the album last night. Currently I'm listening to "It's Not Me."

Listening to Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon tear up "It Ain't Me Babe" will never, ever get old.

Hell no! I love that song.

Is it wrong that I kind of like Joaquin's cover of Johnny's songs more than the original? Is it isn't it? It's not that I don't love Johnny Cash because I do! But... they're so fun and he's got a really nice voice and I have a wee crush on Joaquin.

I agree with Swarles Barkley. Johnny Cash is an amazing artist, but his raggedy voice bugs me sometimes, so it's nice to hear Joaquin's smoother voice sometimes. It's close to the original, but smoother.

On topic? I can't stop listening to Ain't No Other Man.

I Don't Feel like Dancing by Scissor Sisters. Was there a more addictive song released in 2006? I think not.

polarbear- 01-06-2007
That song came on while I was in a meeting a few weeks ago - some guy was yacking on about accounts, and everyone else was just nodding along and tapping their feet to the Scissor Sisters coming from the next room. Awesome, awesone song.

Get Over It by OK Go. I was just introduced to their music recently, and I think has become my new angry, PO'd song.

I had this on repeat for, um, a long time last night.

California/Youth and Beauty Brigade by The Decemberists. This song is basically perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon like the one currently in progress. Where has this band been all my life?
