I love "These Are the Fables" from Twin Cinema. I have no idea what the song is about but it's so pretty I don't care.

Twin Cinema is love. It's my favorite New Pornographers album and "Use It" is my law school anthem. As for the lyrics, it wasn't until I sang the vocal parts for "Electric Version" in Rock Band that I realized how downright cryptic some of the New Pornographers lyrics really were. I still think its funny that one of the most easily understood songs on Challengers, "Myriad Harbor," is by Dan Bejar (it's also probably my favorite song from the album, I love the interrupting chorus "ah who cares you always end up in the city")

Oh and I want to add my voice to the crazy love for Neko Case--I walked into a bakery today and "Star Witness" was playing, which is probably my favorite song of hers. I awkwardly hung around pretending to read the paper until the song finished because it's not one I feel I can walk out on.

On topic? I am absolutely addicted to Volume One by She & Him, but especially "Why Do You Let Me Stay Here." You can listen to it here. It's my new dance-around-the-apartment-pretending-I'm-in-a-60s-girl-group song.

Ever since it randomly popped up on my yahoo radio station I have been obsessed with Duffy's "Mercy". I don't know if her whole album sounds like that but if it does, I am so there.

I've been listening to a few of her other songs and they're all good. I especially like Warwick Avenue. I am really looking forward to her album in May.

"Mouthwash" by Kate Nash, who I am newly obsessed with. It took a while for some of her sillier stuff to grow on me, but now I love it all.

I love Kate Nash too, particularly Pumpkin Soup and Shit Song, even though the synth riff in the latter reminds me of Van Halen's Jump. I find her album to be scarily relatable.

I am loving "Superstar" by Lupe Fiasco, feat. Matthew Santos. I could listen to it all day.

So that's who's singing back-up on that song! His name never shows up when I watch the video on TV!

I guess they always mention him on the radio stations here in MN because he's a local boy.

Does he bear any resemblance to Jimmy Smits? *West Wing fan*

Heh. I thought the exact same thing.

I looooove "Myriad Harbor." I must have listened to it about six times to and from work today, so that definitely qualifies as a Song I Am Listening To. It's such a fun song.

"Love You I Do" from the Dreamgirls soundtrack. It's so upbeat and fun.

"Bottle It Up" by Sara Bareilles, in which she kind of sounds like a female Jason Mraz, if that makes any sense at all.

Omg, yes! I just got her album to review the other day and she's so very cute (needless to say, I gave her a positive review). I love "Many the Miles."
