Twin Cinema is love. It's my favorite New Pornographers album and "Use It" is my law school anthem. As for the lyrics, it wasn't until I sang the vocal parts for "Electric Version" in Rock Band that I realized how downright cryptic some of the New Pornographers lyrics really were. I still think its funny that one of the most easily understood songs on
Challengers, "Myriad Harbor," is by Dan Bejar (it's also probably my favorite song from the album, I love the interrupting chorus "ah who cares you always end up in the city")
Oh and I want to add my voice to the crazy love for Neko Case--I walked into a bakery today and "Star Witness" was playing, which is probably my favorite song of hers. I awkwardly hung around pretending to read the paper until the song finished because it's not one I feel I can walk out on.
On topic? I am absolutely addicted to
Volume One by She & Him, but especially "Why Do You Let Me Stay Here." You can listen to it
here. It's my new dance-around-the-apartment-pretending-I'm-in-a-60s-girl-group song.
