Dimming of the Day/Dargai by Richard & Linda Thompson. Such a beautiful, gentle, comforting song.

"In God's Country" by U2, off of The Joshua Tree. Such a great song. Damn, Bono could wail in the '80s.

"Guilty Pleasure" by Cobra Starship. I feel about 10 years too old to like them, but their whole album is so dance-y, and this song is my current favorite.

It's a slow, cloudy afternoon here at the Archives, so I'm listening to a bunch of Clapton Unplugged tunes on YouTube. Sometimes I forget just how amazing the guy is, especially when he's playing acoustic guitar.

Sea of Love by Cat Power from the Juno Soundtrack. It's so lovely I can't even explain it.

I saw Clapton in concert ages ago, pretty much against my will. I went because a friend wanted to go, and no one else would go with her to see "that old guy." And, dayum if he wasn't freaking amazing. Made me a fan on the spot, and it's still the best concert I've ever seen.

I'm listening to the Ellen Page/Michael Cera version of Anyone Else But You, from the Juno soundtrack. I don't know why. I just love it.

Santana's Moonflower album, specifically I'll Be Waiting, Europa, Dance Sister Dance and the title track. My absolute favorite Santana album. Carlos was a magician with the guitar.

The Lady of Shalott- 02-02-2008
"Pictures of You" by the Cure. And I CAN'T STOP.

Ohhhhh Peaches- 02-02-2008
"Stay Out Of Trouble" by the Kings of Convenience. Nice and mellow, goes well with a hangover.

"David Duchovny", by Bree Sharp. Cracks me up so hard - I did a total spittake the first time I heard "American Heathcliffe, brooding and comely!".

Had to add Spoon's "Don't You Evah" to my itunes for this spring's race walking playlist.

heh - that reminds of how I'm always trying to work David Duchovny into the lyrics of Fastball's "High Above Me." Not on purpose, of course. Because it rhymes.

Fee fi fo fum. . . .I smell the blood of an Englishman oh nooo-ooo-- "Engrish Bwudd," by Man Man. Hella weird, but I'm finding it terribly earworm-y. I get the Captain Beefheart comparisons (I even liked that trout album), and I do love me some gravelly voices, so perhaps that explains it.

Ben Harper's Waiting on an Angel. I used to love him so much (still kinda do), but got back into him after my father told me he saw him on tv and really liked his performance (my dad barely likes any music past the late 70s).
