On my way home for the Christmas holiday, I fell in love with "Chillout Tent" by The Hold Steady. At first I didn't care for the chorus vocals, but then I realized that they totally made the song. "He was kinda cute, we kinda kicked it in the chillout tent/and I never saw that boy again." Love!

Lights On by The Pierces. So dirtyfun. Mmmmm. I'm pretty much a slave to their entire album, which was pimped upon me by a Gossip Girl loving friend (I guess a few of their songs have been featured on the show).

Best Buy is selling Sara Bareilles' CD for $7.99 this week. Ingrid Michaelson's CD is also on sale for the same price. I'm going to pick them up sometime this week.
I love Alicia Key's "No One" for being big and deep-throated and for telling me everything is going to be all right. |
The new Alicia Keys album is awesome too - I really recommend it if you're going to be doing some CD shopping in the near future!

Juno by Life Without Buildings. Their album's great, I wish they hadn't split so early.

Fuckin' Pop Goes My Heart from the Music and Lyrics soundtrack has been firmyl lodged in my brain since I saw the film last night. It was actually the first thing that popped into my head when I woke up this morning!

Welcome to the club, my dear. When I heard Last Christmas by Wham! on the radio last week, I fully expected this song to be the next one.

Damn, just when I think I've finally broken free from your spell, you have to go and call me "dear." Next thing I know, my heart's gone pop...again. Curses!

I can be your long lost pal!
Crap. Now you've gone and stuck that in my head. But as you said that is certainly a happy one to get stuck there.

Its okay. Cause I can call you Betty and you can call me Al. And you can be mentor, as long as you dont run off into an alley with some roly poly girl.
In conclusion, I love Paul Simon.
Gossip Girl has the best music. I got hooked on The Virgins because of them. And my fave song from The Pierces is "Three Wishes".

I can't stop listening to Maps, by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Because I was playing Rock Band on Xbox earlier.

So I've listened to the Portal ending song
Still Alive (written by the always amazing
Jonathan Coulton) for days on end now, and while it's probably slowly driving me insane, I can't stop.

I love the opening and ending guitar riff. It's so awesomely electric.

I've played The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades is Out to Get Us! by Sufjan Stevens about 10 times today. He can get a bit precious for my taste, but he also writes some lovely melodies.

Oh, I love that song, too. It's just so... laid back or something.
I'm about two years too late, but right now I'm really into I Turn My Camera On by Spoon. It just makes my hips twitch and my shoulders shimmy. Love it! Just loving Spoon in general right now, but I really love that song.

It's been two years since that came out?
God.
