I've been listening to a fairly new artist, Colbie Caillat. She's like a singer-songwriter with really nice, mellow acoustic songs. I love Bubbly. Most of her songs make me feel happy. Not like overwhelmingly so, but strangely content.

I've been listening to The Weepies. I'd heard of them before, but I just bought the album a few days ago. They co-wrote a couple of the songs on Mandy Moore's newest album. Their music makes me so happy.

"4th of July" by X. I know it's a sad song, but it makes me pretty happy in a whistful way and I like singing along to it (which is not a good image). Plus Exene Cervenka and John Doe are fucking awesome.

I just heard her song the other day, the one with the line "Makes me crinkle my nose" and it was very sweet.

I cannot stop listening to "Welcome to the Black Parade" by My Chemical Romance. For the most part, I can't tell the difference among them, Fall Out Boy, and Panic! at the Disco. I'm not usually into their kind of music, and none of their other songs have impressed me, but I love this song. Even though it kinda feels like they're ripping off "Bohemian Rhapsody."

I'm pretty sure they've openly admitted the album is heavily Queen-influenced. Pop eating itself and all.

Jeffrey Lewis has a new album that's just covers of Crass songs, and it's amazing. I need to listen to him some more, I think. Anyway, I'm listening to his cover of Punk is Dead, and it's making me very happy.

Cavern by Liquid Liquid. Must put this on my ipod for a workout playlist!

I was listening to some of my students' homework recordings, but I needed a break so I switched on my iPod. Angel by Eurythmics. A beautiful song -- I love Annie Lennox's voice, but not the wrold's most cheerful song.

The new Nightwish album, and though I hate to be a reactionary jerk fangirl, this album would have been SO much better with Tarja, omg.

I can't stop listening to "Silver Lining" by Rilo Kiley. I really love this song.

Pavarotti, La donna è mobile.

Wow. There are no words.

Still listening to Choking, by Angus and Julia Stone. I seem to be pimping them to everyone lately, their music is so pretty and cruisy.

State of Shock's song Money Honey is cracktastic. Perfect earworm song. And it makes me wanna jump around and play air guitar. Not that I do that. Not at all. Ahem.

Every couple of months I go through a stage where I must watch The Office BBC from beginning to end. And then for the next week straight I play either, "Only You" by Yazoo or "Want You Back" by Take That. GAWD, I can put those two songs on repeat for days without getting tired of them.

I'm in the middle of one of those stages, btw.

//goes off to replay the Want You Back video on Youtube for the 80th time today
