There's a bonus track from Mandy Moore's new album called "Swept Away" that I CANNOT STOP listening to. Plus, because Mandy's awesome, all of her new stuff is right in my vocal range. Great song + my vocal range + empty office = ka-*test*-('")i singing really loudly.

Many The Miles by Sara Bareilles.

I just discovered her yesterday - she's a little Anna Nalick, a little KT Tunstall and she's really awesome.

I've had the radio rip of the new Babyshambles single, "Delivery," and a rip of one of Dirty Pretty Things's new songs from Glastonbury, "Come Closer," on alternating repeat for the past few days. It may just be my Pete and Carl obsessiveness talking, but I really can't wait for their new albums. I'm particularly impressed by the 'Shambles single. I'd hoped that getting an "outside" producer in Stephen Street would result in a tighter, more focused sound, and listening to "Delivery," it seems to have done the trick.

I'll also pimp GoodBooks to everyone in the U.K. - their album Control just came out over there (sadly not in the U.S. though, although I've heard it via *cough* other means), and it's wonderfulwonderfulwonderful. Right now my favorite song is "The Curse of Saul," though that could change. One review described them as Bloc Party after they found their sisters' pop albums. I think that's a fair description.

I may or may not have gotten hold of the HSM2 soundtrack and I may or may not be listening to one of the most ridiculous, crackiest bonus songs on the planet. Humauka'pua or something like that.

Cannot stop listening to Wakeup Call by Maroon 5. So freaking awesome.

Wake up call
Caught you in the morning
With another one in my bed
Don't you care about me no more
Don't you care about me no more
I don't feel so bad

Six foot tall
Came without a warning
so I had so shoot him dead
He won't come around here no more
He won't come around here no more
I don't feel so bad

I'm so sorry darling
Did I do the wrong thing?
Oh what was I thinking?
Is his heart still beating?

Rodrigo y Gabriela. I went to iTunes looking for one piece my local station's been playing ("Tamacun") and ended up clicking "Buy Album" before I even sampled the other songs. I have not, as yet, had the chance to see them - but I'm looking forward to it if half the reviews I've read while listening are to be believed.

The Way I Am, by Ingrid Michaelson. Now matter how many times I hear it, I never get sick of it. It's so simple and so sweet.

It's the most awesome non-country country song in years.

Hee. It totally is.

It really is. That and "The Hat" are my two most favorite songs by her, I think.

I finally finally tracked down The Swell Season (Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, of Once), and I effing love "Drown Out." My goodness. "The Swell Season" is also gorgeous.

"San Diego Serenade" by Tom Waits. I just started listening to him, and goddamn he's fantastic.

"The Night Starts Here" by Stars. And immediately after, I'm listening to two other fantastic Stars songs, "Personal" and "Barricade". Can you tell I just recently bought In Our Bedroom After the War?

Oh Noes- 08-22-2007
I love The Night Starts Here also, but sadly I haven't had a chance to listen to the rest of the album.

I just got my hands on Feist's first album and I love It's Cool To Love Your Family.

I've had "Lost Girls" by Tilly & the Wall on repeat all afternoon- so pretty! It's one of those perfect background tunes for cold and dark days when you want to curl up and read.

Our newest intern lent me the new Matt Nathanson CD (I'm going to his show - for his opener - in October, and I figured it'd be polite to have at least a passing knowledge of his music), and OMG. I cannot stop listening to "Come On Get Higher." Seriously. FIVE TIMES IN A ROW at lunch.
