Stupid, sexy Keith Urban and his Stupid Boy song. I've been listening it non-stop for two days. Sorry, Avril, you've been replaced.

Poking around the shared iTunes network, I just found that "Discovery Channel" song. Yep, that "you and me baby ain't nothin' but mammals" one. I don't remember when it came out, but it was long enough ago that I felt sort of embarassed listening to it back then.

That would be "The Bad Touch" by Bloodhound Gang. And it came out in 1999.
Wow, that's some useless knowledge taking up space in my brain that could be better occupied by, say, Star Trek: Deep Space 9 knowledge, for use in the Snarkfest Quiz.

I'm alternating between "If You Knew" by Neko Case and "I'll Make A Man Out of You" from the movie Mulan. I think it's sung by Donny Osmond. Should I be embarrassed?

Be a man!
We must be swift as the coursing river
Be a man!
With all the force of a great typhoon
Be a man!
With all the strength of a raging fire
Mysterious as the dark side of the mooooon
And by that, I mean "No."

What Ramona said. Never be ashamed of Mulan love.

Mulan is seven sorts of awesome, especially that song. Be proud!
So "The Bad Touch" came out when I was in sixth grade? No wonder I was embarassed. (And why the hell did my middle school let that song get played at school dances?)

Heh, they played that song at my then-boyfriend's prom. We went to different schools. They never would've allowed that at my school. Then again, a band did play "Caress Me Down" at a school assembly once...

That is much awesomeness.
whatthedeuce- 04-04-2007
They played that at a school assembly? They mustn't have paid any attention to the lyrics!
sunshine95- 04-04-2007
Yeah, the band was made up of alumni from my school, so they were like a "special musical guest" or something. I'd actually never really paid attention to the lyrics of the song before, but once I realized what they were singing, I kept sneaking glances at the teachers to see what their reactions were. They all did a good job of keeping straight faces, I have to say.

Dude, Mulan rocks. My only regret is that the karate-"HYAH!" in the movie right at the end of "I'll Make A Man Out Of You" isn't on the CD. I love that part.
And, I'm listening to "Machine" by Josh Groban. For the thousandth frickin' time. I am way too obsessed with this song.

Yesyesyesyesyesyes. I love that song. It's so funky and awesome. Very danceable.
I'm listning to "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom" by Selena. I live in Texas (and my schools were always in areas with a high Hispanic population...Higher than the rest of town, that is), and I remember when she died. Almost every girl in school was wearing a Selena shirt, and it was so, so sad. I love Selena.

Wait. Josh Groban and dancing??? Does not compute.

I know, it doesn't make sense, but it's true!
See for yourself (he makes funny faces when he sings, so it's also funny)! He talks a bit about Peter Gabriel, and then sings. And it's awesome. I love Josh Groban. And Peter Gabriel.
