YES! Thank you!
My dad rented it for me once when I was a kid and sick and it FREAKED ME THE HELL OUT.

| It's probably not this one, but Out of Sight features diamonds hidden in a fish tank. |
Isn't this movie A Fish Called Wanda? I could have sworn that diamonds were hidden in the fish tank in that one.
ETA: Thanks lifeguard! It's been awhile since I've watched it.
The key to a safety deposit box containing diamonds was being kept in Wanda's fish tank, mialoubug, but I thought of that one as well. (BTW, avoid the green ones -- they're not ripe yet!)
It's not A Fish Called Wanda or Out of Sight. It was definitely a fish tank in a Monterey Bay-type aquarium. It was the aquarium scene in Burglar that set off the memory. I don't think it was a very good film whatever it was.
I was thinking of this scene when I was ironing my shirt tonight, and now it's bothering the hell out of me. I know I should know the movie this scene is from, but I can't think. Hellllp!
A man and his friends are in an elevator, and some policemen get in the elevator with them. One of the men ask one of the policemen how they iron their shirts so well, and the policeman says, "It's starch."
Then the policeman gets out, and all his friends laugh at the dumb guy who asked the policeman that.
Anyone!? Eeek!
Sounds like Walk the Line to me.
Yes! It is Walk The Line! Thank you!!! No wonder I should have known that. I've only seen that movie about 684 times.
Me too; I think I could lip-synch to it at this stage.
I'm not even sure if this is a movie, a television show or a book. A friend and I were discussing older women, younger men adultery, and I'm vaguely remembering a scene where the older woman lays out the ground rules for an affair. It has to be at his place, but he has to clean it, with clean sheets, etc. She remembers it, too, sort of, but we really can't remember. It may have been Sex and the City, or a movie, or we could have made it up and just thought we remembered something. Any ideas?
Is it The World According to Garp? I don't remember the movie very well, but in the book a character lays out similar ground rules to a guy before she starts an affair with him.
YES! Which is why we couldn't remember if it was a book or a movie - it was both! Thanks!
A quote popped into my head last night from a movie I couldn't place. It was a guy talking to another guy about how once, when he was younger, a beautiful woman dressed all in white passed by him on a boat (?) and probably not a week has gone by in all the years that have passed that he hasn't thought about that girl.
Anyone?

| Okay so I watched this when I was a kid and I need it not to be a fever dream. It was animated in an almost anime-ish style, and it was all about how two elements were brother and sister, and then their kids fell in love, but were seperated Romeo and Juliet style, and I'm pretty sure they died at the end. |
Wow, when I saw this thread title this was the EXACT MOVIE I was coming to post. I've been wondering what it was years. I am oddly reassured that someone else remembered it without having any idea what it was too.
Blah, forgot to read the first page. Bad Auron!
