Hee, win! I have a distinct memory of her talking to Barbara Walters about it and, like, trying to show her how to do a lap dance or something. Hilarious. Stripping's actually pretty athletic, and LiLo doesn't even try. Or get naked. Not that I was dying to see that, but it's lame. And the sex scene is just painful, because it's clearly trying to be sort of funny (her mom hears everything downstairs, despite trying to drown it out by...cleaning the sink), but it just doesn't work.
I almost don't wanna recommend it because it really is more bad than awesomely bad, and yet no one can really understand it until you've seen it. It's like a car wreck. Really. One of my favorite critics' quotes ever, as found on Rotten Tomatoes, I think: "I wish someone had killed me."

Superbad was very amusing for the first half hour, but the rest was just boring and tedious. It didn't help that the lead character, Seth, was so unlikable. I couldn't wait for it to end.

I felt the opposite. At first, about the time Seth was going on about his drawing problem, I was thinking, "this is way too much of a guy movie" for me. And then right around the time the cops came into play I started to find it much funnier. But yeah, I think Seth should have been a little less obnoxious.

Oh man, I love Superbad. I had planned on buying it since it just came out, but went with the two disc Order of the Phoenix instead. Which came today, yay!
I recently rented the last Die Hard movie and was very pleasantly surprised. I thought that Timothy Olyphant made an excellent and believable villian and that the stupidity of the American Government wasn't out of bounds.

It's completely evil that they released PotC: AWE, Order of the Phoenix and the Sweeney Todd soundtrack right around the holidays. I'm supposed to be buying gifts for other people, not being a psycho collector-fangirl. Boo, those whores.

The Bourne Ultimatum (which I missed in theaters) is on its way to me from Netflix. Whee!

Order of the Phoenix since we didn't get to see it in the theaters.
And the Patrick Stewart version of A Christmas Carol. I think the week leading up to Christmas we may end up watching several version of it. Either the tv movie version with George C. Scott or Muppet Christmas Carol. Both are cool.
I secretly hope the Patrick Stewart slips in a "make it so" into the dialogue.

Waitress which was very cute, and really reaffirms my adoration of Nathan Fillion, and was a little weepy for me in that I've loved Adrienne Shelley since seeing The Unbelievable Truth in the early 90's and her death is still so fucking tragic. The last five minutes of it are kind of unnecessary, but an otherwise great little movie.
Hot Rod which my brother erroneously compared to the hilarity of Tommy Boy, there are some truly loony and hilarious moments, but it kind of felt like a half baked Jackass rip off.
Aurora Borealis, my favorite of the bunch Josh Jackson is always showing up in these surprisingly good little indies no one ever sees. It's hilarious and poignant, and yes more than flirts with maudlin, but I loved it anyway. I loved that the Juliette Lewis character admits to moving to Minneapolis because of the Replacements, cause uh, I may or may not have from time to time considered moving there for the same reason. There's lots of totally cool tv second bananas in it including Steve Pasquale, Tyler Labine barely acting like Jack Black, and Dave from Titus.

Badder Santa
What is the record for most "fucks" per movie? It's like someone watched Chasing Amy and thought -- I can write nastier dialogue than that, and I'll make it a Christmas movie to boot.

...I assume you were asking facetiously, but I couldn't resist
actually looking it up. Heh.
Soldier's Girl was really something else. My Lee Pace-love has now been multiplied exponentially. (And I just got finished that and goddamn
Return of the King is on TNT. And now I am crying. Again.)

Lordy!
I can't believe such a list exists, but bless you for finding it. Now I can rest easy knowing that Bad Santa had 173 fucks, while Chasing Amy only had 121, which isn't even the most fucks used in a Kevin Smith move.
The things you learn at Snarkfest.

Wikipedia. Is there anything it can't do?
I can't help but love anything that tallies Fucks Per Minute.

Last night, we watched Trapped in the Closet: Chapters 1-12 with the commentary track on. My favorite part (though there were many to choose from), was when R. Kelly explained why he went with a beretta in the "then he looked behind the dresser, I reached for my beretta" part:
"Well, I needed something that rhymed with dresser."
I almost fell off my couch, I was laughing so hard. God bless you, R. Kelly. |
You can rent that?? callie and I spent an enjoyable night watching chapters 1-6 on TV. God, it cracked our shit up!
I just rented Waitress and Superbad. I LOVED Waitress. I keep going around quoting the first few minutes to all my friends ("I Don't Want Earl's Baby Pie"). By the end of it, I was thinking in a Southern accent and totally wanted a baby. Thankfully, that only lasted a few minutes.
I enjoyed Superbad, though I did think it was a bit tedious and Seth was a complete tool.

I fail to understand how Hard Core Logo did make that list, it surely has north of 850 conjugations of the word fuck, as well as every other curse word known to man, felch being most highly favored.

Bon Cop Bad Cop
I finally caught this movie OnDemmand. If you don't know it's a cop film parody of a serial killer attacking those who he thinks let "Our Game" move south and since I'm a Colorado Avalanche fan my team was a central them.
Now i would accuse this movie of being broad, but when i thought about it I'm surprised there hasn't been an attempt on Bettman's life.
I was pleasantly surprised that they didn't take the kind of cheap shots at Colorado that they did at Gary Bettman.
Since I lived in BC for awhile I was able to get most of the stereotype jokes about Ontario and Quebec.
