Brick and The Lookout because I was in the mood for some Joseph Gordon-Levitt. God that kid is so talented. I actually ended up liking Brick more than I thought I would because the teen noir shtick sounded a bit too pretentious for me. But JGL was sooo good as were the rest of the performances that I got sucked into the mystery. The dialogue was somewhat over-the-top but the actors looked and sounded believable enough saying it that I didn't get distracted by it too much. And Lukas Haas creeped me right the hell out.

I liked The Lookout a lot too. And a big part of that was because of Matthew Goode who is incredibly hawt.

Breach. I loved it. I absolutely adore Chris Cooper, and he's just so dang creepy in this. And Ryan Phillipe was pretty good as well.

Zodiac. Also enjoyed it, though nobody told me it was 2.5 hours long. I thought it was never going to end! And Jake Gyllenglakdhal spent the entire movie looking like he was 25 years old.

ulkis- 11-17-2007
I think he actually was 25 when he made the movie, since he's 26 now. Is the character supposed to be older?

blixie- 11-17-2007
He's supposed to age about 10-15 years over the course of the movie, I'm not sure how old Graysmith was when he first got involved but I'd imagine it was his late 20's so yes the character is way older than Jake actually was/is.

Chloe Sevigny's look in that film depressed me. I know, I know.

And yes Matthew Goode is crazy hot.

I just rented Ocean's 13 and enjoyed it much more than 12. I thought the look of it was really well done, the colors managed to make it look a bit like Old Vegas. Also it was just a lot of fun to watch.

That's Hollywood for ya. (I'm comparing it right to now to "La Vie en Rose", a movie about Edith Piaf I was watching yesterday. The aging make-up they put on the actress was extremely convincing.)

I'd forgotten how much I loved Home for the Holidays, and how sad it made me. And Jodie Foster's commentary makes it even sadder, somehow.

I knew there was a reason why I thought you were so awesome.
It is incredibly sad but still so awesome.
Some kick-ass actors just throwing down some fine performances.

I just saw Kiss Kiss Bang Bang yesterday and was surprised at how funny it was. I remembered wanting to see it during the theatrical run, but I never got around to. The shootout near the end was crazy awesome.

The shame of Vincent Gallo just won't wash off.

"When in doubt kill a pig; town motto."

"Why in pluperfect hell would you piss on the body?!"

Harrison Ford fucked up so bad turning that down.

Another day sick another Ondemmanding.

Eight Men Out John Sayles, great cast, historical so I loved it. One thing always gets me about the Shoeless Joe sentimentality (Field of Dreams too). You never see anyone arguing for Buck Weaver's reinstatement. He was actually more innocent that Jackson!

Porky's II has not aged well, even by 80's teen sex romp standards. And this was a Porky's sequel the first one was such a hit they could have gone bigger and better unlike say Hot Dog 2 or Spring Break: The Quickening

Strange Days: I'll watch Ralph Finnes in anything and this is anything and I'll be honest I wanted to see the POV shot of Kylie Ireland's breasts. Then there is... tom Sizemore in an oddly prescient role, unintentionally hilarious showcase of Juliette Lewis' non-talent (TWO musical numbers!) and the out of date millennialism. That could not have seemed like a good idea at the time it was like 97 and there was no way in hell anyone could have thought technology would have advance that much.

54 it's shit I just wanted to see the period detail. As a disco apologist I have come to the sinking realization that no one is going to uncover a forgotten disco hit and as a ressult any soundtrack is going to be perfunctory. Horrible exposition, Mike Myers in Jim-Carrey-oscar-beg mode, shamelessly aping Saturday Night Fever and oddly enough Thank God It's Friday.

But you have to admit, the final kiss on Strange Days is pretty damn hot.

I saw Waitress this weekend and I think it's my favorite movie of the year. Even if I was expecting a cute romcom and the movie was actually pretty dark in some places. But I loved the little details, like the horn honking and the name of the pies. Plus, Nathan Fillion.

And during the movie all I could think it's that Jenna and Ned from Pushing Daisies should totally meet one day to talk and bake pies. And maybe have babies? Because they'd be cute.

Casino Royale aired on the tv and since I haven't seen it since it was on the theaters, I was curious to see if I could still call it "Best Bond Ever." Yep. I can. That movie is so damn fun without being stupid and over the top. Also, Daniel Craig's hotness amazed me all over again.

I also saw that over the weekend and enjoyed it. I disliked Ocean's 12, so this was a vast improvement.

pinkmoon, Waitress is also one of my favorite movies of the year and I'm totally going to buy it when it comes out on DVD.

eventide82- 11-18-2007
Same here regarding Waitress. It was cute and sweet, and a little bit dark and heart wrenching, but I loved it. Keri Russell was gorgeous, as was Cheryl Hines and Adrienne Shelley, and I really craved pie after I walked out of the cinema!

I hope the DVD has tons of extras when it comes out.

I have a little trouble making it through Christopher Guest's movies, but the music from A Mighty Wind totally kills me, especially the "Kiss at the End of the Rainbow" at the end.

sunshine95- 11-22-2007
Ratatouille is coming in on Friday from Netflix. I didn't get a chance to see it in the theaters, so I'm excited.
