But it was great to see Idris Elba in a film. I haven't seen him in anything since the TV series Ultraviolet.

The Wire. Rent it now, it's really excellent, and Idris is fan-bloody-tastic in it.

I must obey! Thanks, La G, I'll be sure to check it out.

Tarzan the Ape Man which is the first Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan film. It's pretty offensive what with the heroic elephant hunters and the evil pygmies but it looks pretty good (the scene where one of the native bearers falls off a cliff is not for sufferers from vertigo) and there's much less stock footage of crocodiles than the later films. At least, I guess this is the film that all the croc-footage comes from. I'd forgotten just how revaling Johnny's loincloth is...

I am watching Love Actually for the very first time, and it is making me grin like a moron. Why have I not seen this before?

We watched Stranger Than Fiction last night and I looooooved it. Loved it. So adorable. And I didn't want to punch Will Ferrell! This is progress for me.

Some friends of mine have just started watching The Wire, and my friend's boyfriend has developed a bit of a man crush on Idris. I took great delight in telling him that I once sat opposite Idris on a train in South London. That was a good day.

I own that movie and love it so much. Will Ferrell is toned down and such a pleasure to watch in this movie. Plus, there is so much Spoon on the soundtrack, and I love me some Spoon.

I saw Real Women Have Curves this weekend and really enjoyed it. America Ferrera was great as a teenager trying to figure out her life after high school and wanting more for herself. I was glad that Ana finally stood up to her mother and told her that she was proud of the way that she looked, but was sad that her mom didn't officially give Ana her blessing at the end.

Not rented, but managed to catch on TV, Emile. That's about the 4th time I've seen it now. I have so much love for this little movie, which has only increased since going to a q&a session with Carl Bessai, the director. Love love love. Recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet.

Equilibrium. The only excuse I have is for the love of hot, hot Christian Bale wearing a tight, tight trench coat.

I thought that movie was pretty cool, but someone really needed to pull Taye Diggs over and explain to him that "emotionless society" means "stop fucking smiling".

Maybe he wasn't smiling. Maybe he had gas?

But his smile is so beautiful! It would be a crime if he could not smile.

I enjoy the part where Christian Bale has the adorable puppy. It's the best part of the movie.

Next: Sean Penn may have turned into a humorless prick but he was right about Nicholas Cage just embarassing himself with his choices.

Next convinced me someone needs to stage an intervention.

Some cool action sequences based on his precognative ability, but that's about it. Juliane more fully clothed with eyes that say "You got my check?" Possibly the most generic Eurotrash terrorists in cinematic history >>>>The movie has ZERO backstory on them. You have no idea why they are even engaging on their terrorist plans<<<<<

The world is enabling him though. He'll make a great movie...no one sees it. He makes a crapticular movie (and no NOT Face/Off, that was awesome), and its like a number one hit.

I mean National Fucking Treasure 2 just got voted one of the top three most anticipated movies of next year. WHY?

Are there only three movies being released next year? And one of them's a sequel to Lohan's movie where her leg falls off during a stripper scene? Because that's the only explanation I can come up with.

Cage was so channeling Adam West in NT, but Sean Bean is worth seeing anything.
