Do all Time Agents have the same initials?

Interview with John Barrowman
QUOTE
I took a lot of flak in the beginning from people saying I was abandoning theatre for TV,” he admits. “But I was not. I went to TV to prove to people how good West End actors are.

“For years people would say, ‘They’re just musical theatre, they don’t know how to do anything’. My response is fuck you. We are some of the most talented people in the industry. We sing, we dance, we act, we do it all.

Season 2, Episode 1 Opening Scene.
>>A blowfish! Driving a sports car! Delivering clonky exposition!<< This is the only show where I find it reassuring to know that the writers are still on the crack pipe.

Another clip from the first episode.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is what we call fanservice.

I love how the rationale for everything on this show seems to boil down to ways to complete the sentence "Wouldn't it be cool if...?"
Wouldn't it be cool if they had a pet dinosaur?
Wouldn't it be cool if they fought a Cyberman, but...like...a hot Cyberman?
Wouldn't it be cool if everyone was bisexual for no particular reason?
Wouldn't it be cool if >>Jack made out with Spike...or if they had a big fight...I've got it! Both! At once!<<

Which is why the show is so cracktacular.

Well, that was gratuitous and silly, wasn't it? (I know, I know: "You say that like it's a bad thing.")

We have to wait how long for this thing to air? I hate waiting.

polarbear- 01-09-2008
Hee - they're actually just filming fanfic, aren't they? As someone on LJ said, it's nice to be a demographic. Keep pandering to us, Rusty!

So we've had the Buffy crossover and the Heroes-trailer crossover. What else shall we ask for? I was thinking Ivor the Engine, it being Welsh and all that but maybe John Barrowman would prefer something a little more musical. Strictly Come Saving the World sort of thing.

I've finally figured out why I'm so looking forward to the next season of this show (besides the hot boykissing, I mean): It looks like TPTB have finally realized that their making Crack, instead of being under the delusion that they're making Serious Drama.

Also, does this mean Captain Jack's transformation into Angel is now complete?

Esseilte- 01-09-2008
I was actually just thinking the blasphemous thought that I wish that scene HAD happened on Angel. But I'll take this. Hello, boys.

I bet he kicked down an unsuspecting door.

Ianto speaks. There will be slash. Lots and lots of slash.

epudom- 01-16-2008
Less than 7 hours until the return of our favourite idiots!

God bless their slash filled hearts...

psammead- 01-16-2008
Slash...so much slash...must have more slash. Bloody Torchwood, hee.

epudom- 01-16-2008
I wonder just how much Jack/John/Ianto slash is being written this evening?

polarbear- 01-16-2008
Hee - that was so much fun! (And hooray for iPlayer, since I am always out Wednesday evenings!). I've missed my cracktastic gay show so much.

Melk- 01-17-2008
That was a great episode, it's really nice to see Torchwood hitting its potential rather than just hinting at how good it could be. James Marsters was a lot of fun, especially the off hand blink-and-you-miss it poodle joke. I finally really, really like Gwen as well, rather than seeming a bit superfluous to it all she played a proper role, and the scene with her and Jack talking about her engagement was chock full of serious UST.

Jack >> asking Ianto out was very sweet, it was funny seeing him failing to be suave for once. And Tosh and Owen! What is it about this show that makes me hurl myself onto any shipping bandwagon going?

And as for 'Grey', I'm totally calling long-lost son right now.
