John Barrowman is doing a
concert tour though, annoyingly he seems to be doing mainly pop covers rather than showtunes judging by his new album. He's doing a talk at
the National Theatre too.
(Any London-based Snarkers want to meet up for the talk?)
Woohoo! The Sage Gateshead! That's one I can go to!
Finally, someone who actually comes near where I live.
Of course, I'm skint until Friday so if all the tickets go I shall be annoyed.
I'm actually singing there myself on Sunday (with my choir), and also a week after John's concert so maybe I should plan a stalkerlike route to sneak backstage.
What? That's not creepy at all!
I've bought tickets for the talk at the NT on 11th Feb. Row B so easy knicker-throwing distance! Anyone let me know if you want one- no real hurry but it will definitely sell out because Torchwood will be underway by then. Don't worry about changing your mind - it's only £3.50, so no big deal.
BBCAmerica will begin airing the Second Season on
January 26th at 9:00PM. So, we won't be a million years behind the UK airings, for once.
You'll only be a week or so
behind us. Interestingly there's going to be a pre-watershed cut-down release so I guess the whole 'it's Whoniverse but not for kids' thing isn't totally practical. Though I was amused to read an interview in DWM with Yasmin Paige (Maria from SJA) in which she said she 'wasn't allowed' to watch Torchwood and she's 16! So I guess that's the official line from the production office.

That promo photo: Why did the cast steal their costumes from The Matrix?

Are they going to re-cut the first season, too? While that could work with some episodes, others, like "Day One," would be about five minutes long?

Sometimes Torchwood comes across as being so desperate to be considered 'adult' that they cram as much sex and swearing in as possible, at the expense of the actual characters and plot. Hopefully there being a recut pre-watershed version of each episode will help tone that down.

Torchwood returns to BBC2 in January and, for young fans, there will also be a specially-edited version repeated during the week.
"We're cutting the violence, but the sex will stay in," says John unapologetically. "I'd rather parents explain why people are kissing than why they are blowing people's brains out."

Won't somebody think of the children?

Is it January, yet? I *need* my stupid undead omnisexual crack show.
Why, oh why do the BBC have one policy for the Doctor Who site and another for the Torchwood one? I was able to access Torchwood earlier but now I'm getting a 'page isn't redirecting properly' message. They've started up their "UK residents only" thing again. Woes!! They'd better not have anything sexy involving Captain Jack on there and if they do, someone better get me a link to it!
Freema's site has list of air dates and writers for S2. Looks like Rusty pulled out of writing an episode this year (DWM reported that he would), and Chris Bloody Chibnall is writing the season finale instead.
*grumbles* I don't think RTD's writing is a guarantee of a good episode, though, if that's any consolation.

True. I just hated all of Chibnall's, from both series, so I think I would prefer those typing monkey to write a script instead of him.
