One of the US women in the marathon has already dropped out of the race holding her foot. I would be devastated to have to quit like, twenty minutes into the race.

I love that the world's fas-*test*-('") man is named Bolt.

I know, it's such an appropriate surname.

Yeah Thompson was adorable, talking about being a part of history and being so proud that he was second behind Bolt in this race.

I loved Michael Johnson's reaction to the race here. He's awesome.

Congrats to the old hag Dara Torres! Who knew that 40-plus people had athletic skillz!

I have no connection to Michael Phelps whatsoever, and yet I'm starting to sweat the 4x100.

I'm a little worried about Torres being tired and dragging down the relay, though. Hopefully the 50 works as a warmup for her.

Rowdy Gaines needs to STFU already. When he called Dara Torres "chatty Cathy" I was screaming "POT! KETTLE! BLACK!"

Wooo Phelps! You know, I think a large part of why I like him is his mother. I love their reaction shots of her, especially when it wasn't immediately clear he won the seventh gold. (And of course, it's nice that he's not only an American but from Baltimore. Apparently he's a huge Ravens fan too.)

Poor Grant Hackett, although a Tunisian winning wow, I loved how the reporters commented that this was his comeback after -*test*-('")ing positive for amphetamines.

Seriously, Jason Lezak rocks. Without him, Phelps would have 2 fewer medals.

And Phelps' mom is adorable! It was so cute how she was chanting"Go Jason!" in the final leg of the relay.

I have to say seeing the footage of the people in Baltimore staying after a Ravens game to watch Michael Phelps swim was pretty awesome.

Congrats to Michael and his fellow relay teammates. And congrats to ladies who brought home a silver. It totally blows my mind that Dara Torres managed to win two silver medals at the age of 41, swimming in events that close together.

Also, Natalie Caughglin became the first women to ever win six medals at one Olympics, but she's gotten a big lost in the shuffle with the Phelps-mania.
