Maybe. But
this article says a Chinese gymnast on the 2000 team confessed to lying about her age and apparently kept her medal? The IOC is lamecakes.

Oh god, a dancer was
paralyzed below the waist during practice? This olympics is brutal.

That's so much bull. They are stripping athletes guilty of doping of their medals. Why not underaged athletes? It's the same thing - cheating. I know gymnastics has a tradition of it, but it's not right. It's not fair to the athletes that are of age and don't cheat.

I am getting weirdly invested in this match between the US and Belgium. I'm rooting for Belgium, even chanting "Belge, Belge, allez Belge!", simply because at this point an upset for them would simply be interesting.

The Braveheart soundtrack was an interesting music choice for that piece on the artist who designed the Beijing logo. I don't know about you, but when I hear bagpipes I don't exactly think of Chinese culture.

| Ah, I see you've watched this video. |
I hadn't seen that, but thanks, man. I love Ryan Lochte so much. We need to hang out and like, eat Cheetos and draw raindrops that turn into fish that turn into comets.

Don't forget, those comets need to be coming out an egg that is actually the world.
I kind of love how much of a free spirit and goof Ryan Lochte is in that interview. You don't hear stuff like that every day. Plus, nice eyes and HOT. I was really pleased to see him win a gold medal and get some glory for himself tonight.
I am sad that Pieter van den Hoogenband wasn't able to do better in last night's race, but the younger swimmers just keep getting faster and faster, so that must be frustrating.

And another one for Phelps...I am really happy that he is winning but I agree about ignoring all other swimmers and its not only the American commentators its also everywhere. There are some great swimmers out there doing great things but I only hear about Phelps.
I hope Coventry wins a gold in the backstroke, she seemed so upset with silvers all the time.
These olympics are so much more entertaining than usual
Miss Moneypenny- 08-14-2008
Man, I just realized who Lochte looks like: Jeff Spicoli.
Okay, that profile might have helped form that impression, but I can't be the only one who sees it, can I?
(Aw, he's all teary!)
Queen Esther- 08-14-2008
Nah, Lochte may channel Matt McConawhatever, but he is in no way a Spicoli lookalike. That honor belongs to
Igor Andreev from Russia.
bookworm- 08-14-2008
One of the commentators said that too. It is so true too!
Crackie- 08-14-2008
The more I watch women's gymnastics, the more they kind of freak me out. The teeny tiny gymnasts, that is. I think my cat weighs more than some of them.
jcpdiesel21- 08-14-2008
Ryan Lochte is like a thicker, bulkier Spicoli.
You know, I wouldn't really mind it if gymnastics weren't live. I feel like the commentary is worse than usual because the commentators are constantly filling the long delays between the events and the judges' posted scores with endless verbal diarrhea.
jensa- 08-14-2008
Ryan Lochte was on Access Hollywood tonite talking to Billy Bush (don't judge me!). It just makes me laugh when he talks now. He really should hang out with McConahayyy.
Glad to see he won his won gold medal in the backstroke. Although I had to go dig it out of the results and all of the Michael Phelps coverage. Yes, Phelps is awesome, he's wonderful, he's the grea-*test*-('") athlete ever, and he eats a lot. I get it. Now show some of the other results.
