I don't get the love for the title track ("The Sweet Escape") - yeah, it's a good song but that "yeeeehooo" part totally ruins the entire song for me.

That's my favorite part of the song. Nay, my favorite part of the entire album. I can't not sing along.

I also like the line in "Yummy" where she's like, "Where'd you get this? This sounds like disco Tetris." I thought that was funny.

And those are the only nice things I can say about that album.

Fuck it. I love "Wind It Up". I actually sat down this morning so I could watch the whole video before leaving for work. I hate myself.

DeBarge's "Rhythm of the Night" is terrible, yet awesome at the same time.

Damn you straight to hell, jcp! That is a mighty fine song, and there's nothing terrible about it! My fave song of his though is I Like It. I literally squeal with delight everytime it comes on the radio! Same goes for Earth, Wind and Fire's Groove Tonight. I lose my shit every single time with that one. Favori-*test*-('") song ever.

As you should.

Small world. I'm listening to "I Like It" right now. There is nothing bad about Debarge and his scary pimpstache. Homeboy used to rock!

"I like the way you comb your hair
And I like those stylish clothes you wear
It's just the little things you do
That show how much you really care"

That is awesome!

whatthedeuce- 12-13-2006
And that long, super high-pitched note he holds at the end? You know the one I'm talkin' about! That note is awesome!

keenai- 12-13-2006
That whole song is pure joy.

"You send chills up my spine every time I take one look at you."

That is GOLD, people.

While Weird Al isn't stupidcrackmusic, I've had "White & Nerdy" in my head all day long. I'm going bonkers trying to get "Santa Baby" in there so it'll leave, but nothing works. Help.

"Wind it up" is bad. and not even good bad, except for the yodeling.

I'm the Pussycat Dolls' bitch.

wtd, you know that I'm taking notes for just the right time, right?

Should I be looking for a new change of address? I feel like you're probably standing right outside my window or something at this very moment.

Yes, but the version that's on the Moulin Rouge soundtrack is loads better and more dance-y.

jcpdiesel21- 12-13-2006
Okay, perhaps I was a little harsh with DeBarge yesterday. "Rhythm of the Night" isn't really terrible... it's just terribly cheesy.

What movie moment is it connected to? I feel like I should know this.

keenai- 12-13-2006
It is in Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon when we first meet Vanity! I mean, Laura Charles. And the song is hot, and she means hot.

whatthedeuce- 12-13-2006
Never heard it in any movie, and I love it nonetheless.

FiggyPudding- 12-15-2006
Nelly Furtado - Say It Right.

Also, the soundtrack from Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story. I never get sick of it. The inspirational theme was reused in every ultra dramatic and heroic movie trailer for years afterward. It always makes me feel like, "hey, maybe I can go out and climb some mountains and kick some ass!!"

Then the trailer ends and I go back and sit on the couch and have more Doritos.
