Who was it who posted about Grace Kelly by Mika?
DAMN YOU.
Crackiest song ever. |
I've been hearing about him for a while but I only heard the song for the first time on the radio last night and I had to go get it from iTunes immediately! I love the chorus, it makes me want to get up and do a crazy interpretative dance. And I'm not ever drunk or high on sugar.

So, I just read that "Konichiwa Bitches" by Robyn is going to be released in the UK.
I'd like hold the boards and the poster who first mentioned the song personally responsible for reviving Robyn's career by supplying us with the crack that we have, in turn, passed on to our friends and has somehow reached the powerful music execs' ears.

I've had a very strange loop in my head for the last 24 hours -- Miseria Cantare:
Nothing from nowhere I'm no one at all
Radiate
Recognize one silent call
As we all form one dark flame
Incinerate
Love Your Hate
Your Faith Lost
You Are Now
One of Us
-- followed by The Shins' Phantom Limb. Then back to "LOVE. YOUR HATE. YOUR. FAITH LOST. ..."
...I don't know.

Yeah Yeah

Don't want to think about it! Don't want to talk about! I'm just so sick about it!
Curse you, Justin Timberlake. You just had to find your way onto my iPod somehow, didn't you? Even though your song is so stuck in my head I really don't need the iPod to hear it.
If what goes around comes around, someday I will make a song and it will get stuck in your head, and you will love the song in spite of yourself.

Bahaha! *quietly giggles at desk*
Yeah, no, that's really all I had to say.

It's the strumming of the instrument at the beginning and the end of the song that really hooks me. Is it an acoustic guitar? Mandolin?
Poubelle- 02-16-2007
I'm pretty sure that it's a madolin, but I'll listen to the song a few more times to make sure.
Sincerity- 02-17-2007
I've only heard the song a couple of times, but it sounded vaguely sitar-like to me.

Aieeeee. That is WEAPONS-GRADE catchiness on that song, there. It's been stuck in my head all morning, despite my best efforts to chase it out.
Kinda like Dante from Clerks, I keep saying to myself: "I'm not even supposed to LIKE Justin Timberlake!"
whatthedeuce- 02-22-2007
I thought the instrument in the JT song was a sitar. I have no clue what a mandolin sounds like.
kai- 02-22-2007
I'm pretty sure it's electronic, whatever else it's supposed to sound like. Sitar is probably closest, though.
mrinsouciance- 02-22-2007
Gah, I have that stupid effing Lays potato chip jingle stuck in my head; the one touting their chips being cooked in sunflower oil. Out, damned spot!
sen3- 02-22-2007
I'm *this* close to giving into the JT. I gave in and downloaded that Omarion song Ice Box and now I'm obsessed with
this song by Se7en. I think there is an International conspiracy of cute boy pop/r&b singers.
Sincerity- 02-24-2007
Damn you, Justin Timberlake. And also, Nelly Furtado. I escaped "Promiscuous Girl" and whatever that other song was..."Maneater"? Anyway, I escaped them. But you got me with "Say It Right". Like, you seriously got me. DAMN YOU.
