Fall Out Boy uses song titles from their lyrics fairly often, actually. "Sugar We're Going Down," "Dance, Dance"... Okay, well at least the singles, heh.

Yeah, I was giving them credit for using a long title in their lyrics, which hardly ever happens (ex. FOB's "A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More Touch Me," Panic! At the Disco's "I Write Sins Not Tragedies," My Chemical Romance's "It's Not A Fashion Statement, It's A Fucking Deathwish," etc.)

Seriously. What is up with these long ass song titles of late?

I personally think they're hilarious... My favourite is Get Busy Living Or Get Busy Dying (Do Your Part To Save The Scene And Stop Going To Shows) off Fall Out Boy's From Under the Cork Tree. I mean, come on! That's funny! Although I do think FOB sort of pioneered the whole "essay as a title" movement, and the other bands are merely followers.

Oh dear God. I can't imagine what a radio DJ would say if a song like this ever was released as a single. Would they be forced to say the entire song title before or after playing it? Would they pass out halfway through? Or would Fall Out Boy be kind enough to shorten the title for radio airplay?
Whatever happened to short, concise song titles? [/old lady]

Oh man I am really stupid. I keep hearing everyone talking about Imogen Heap, and I just downloaded a bunch of her songs only to figure out that she is the girl from Frou Frou!
I had no idea who she was!

So, thanks to the Tori Amos thread, I was prompted to buy From the Choirgirl Hotel. Now I can't stop listening to "Raspberry Swirl". It was all I could do to keep from accidentally singing "If you want inside her, well, boy, you'd better make her raspberry swirl" in front of my mom. (I'm not entirely sure she would have gotten it, but if she had...my mom, while cooler than many moms, is that not that particular sort of cool mom.)

I just heard My Chemical Romance's Welcome to the Black Parade for the first time recently (yeah, I know it's been out for a while, but I don't listen to the radio) and now I can't get it out of my head.

very addictive song - reminds me of Queen's songs

| The fact that I obtained it yesterday and it's already in my "Top 25 most played" on iTunes tells you all you need to know about its cracktastic properties. People, be aware! THIS SONG IS NOT SAFE. |
Polarbear, I hate you. And I also love you and worship you. Because the first time I heard "You Know My Name" was in the theater, and I thought - "Meh. It's fine. Whatever. Hellooo, Daniel Craig." Thought no more about the song. Then you posted about the crack-a-lack-ity of it? And I was like, "Hmm. Maybe I should give it another shot."
I CANNOT TURN IT OFF. It's on an endless loop either on iTunes or in my brain. I am so obsessed I went looking for Chris Cornell interviews. The Sun's has a podcast where they interview CC about it
here. It's about three boxes down on the right hand side.

That's a great track - one of the few non-hip hop songs on my cardio playlist.

kindred, I thought you were gonna say it's one of the only non-hip-hop songs on MCR's new album! My mind was poised to cave in from amusement and utter confusion!
kai- 01-15-2007
Ahaha! I had the exact same reaction!
Funny story about that song: I was listening to it on the radio in the car the other day, and just as it finished, I switched over to another station that was just starting to play another My Chemical Romance song. And I thought to myself, I thought, Gee, this sounds exactly like their other song. How unoriginal. And then I realized it WAS the same song. Hahaha. Dur.

Welcome To The Black Parade is addictive stuff. It's one of those songs that plays itself in your head when you're supposed to be working.

Heh, me too. Then I tried to imagine what hip-hop MCR would sound like. Then I was disturbed.

I've found myself driving around and hoping so hard that KROQ or KIIS will play it. Then, when they do, I get super excited. It's pathetic.
