No one but Erica or Greenlee is allowed to be mean to Jackson.
God, I miss Greenlee so much. She had the best winter wardrobes ever, and that time she got stuck down the mine shaft was fantastic. Not to mention lotion fights, wedding dress fights, wedding fights and all the other ways she and Kendall used to sublimate their love.
I liked Babe a lot when she and Bianca were preggers together and were all flirty and cute (seriously, a strapless maternity dress?), but the baby switch earned her my everlasting hatred. Krystal, of course, already had my everlasting hatred and will always have my everlasting hatred and just seeing her on my screen makes me want to barf/throw things.

I can't talk about Babe objectively, because I hate her so damn much. I didn't even see 85% of the baby switch story, but her behavior after the fact, including her insistence on remaining a part of Fusion, is enough to earn my seething hatred until the end of time. But I won't go into it all. The people of TWoP have the Babe hate covered for me, so I just read their posts and get all "Hell, yeah!" at my computer. Just like a crazy person.
As far as I know, Babe got Greenlee's Fusion shares when Greenlee left town. Greenlee was pissed at Kendall about the surrogacy, so she gave her shares to Babe because she knew how much Kendall hated her. Basically, her spot at Fusion is Babe's reward for keeping Miranda and causing the Kane family massive amounts of pain and heartbreak. And here is one of my favorite pieces of evidence that Babe is some kind of sociopath. Instead of being ashamed of her past behavior and selling off her shares to one of the many people who offered to buy them from her, she sticks around where she is not wanted for very legitimate reasons and then whines when no one is nice to her. If she had any sense of decency, she would have been embarrassed by Greenlee's gesture and removed herself from Kendall's company. That was bad enough. I thought that was some truly sucky behavior, but I didn't get worked up about it because it just didn't seem worth it. It was an obvious McTavish plot device to get Babe into the Cool Girl Treehouse Club and show how spunky she is, so I chose to ignore it. But then, JR accidentally almost killed Kendall and Spike, and Babe lied to keep him out of prison. If she wants to forgive JR, that's fine. It's her prerogative. But she seriously expected Kendall to be okay with it. She came into work, let JR roam freely around the office and get in Kendall's face, and was completely incapable of understanding why Kendall was so pissed about the situation. It was appalling. And she always talks about how much she fought to be a part of Fusion, which, no, she didn't. She was handed stock in an established company. All she had to do was put up with bitchy comments at her expense. She didn't work for or earn a damn thing. What's hypocritical about me, though, is that I refuse to hate JR. I loved JR and Kendall's friendship, and JR is a freaking core character. The writers love to sacrifice him and make him Teh Evul to prop Babe, and I just don't buy it. I'm Team JR, too.
Okay, so this ended up being a Babe hate post after all. I should say something positive now to balance it out a little. Let's see. Bianca looked very pretty all dressed up for New Years. And even though I don't like Zarf, I think the actor is doing a fabulous job. The guy who plays Zach has done great with his scenes this week, too. AMC really is full of good actors. They just need better writers to give them better things to do.

I understand why people hate Babe. I totally understand it, and I even agree with a lot of the reasons to hate her. I just don't feel the same way. She does a lot of things that I don't like, but I still somehow like her. In real life, she'd disgust me, but on a soap, it's all relative. Erica has done some God-awful things, and I still like her. Janet did horrible, horrible things when she was around and I ended up liking her in the end (and now I like her because she's amusing, even though I have like, no sympathy for her). Palmer, Adam...almost everyone on that show has done terrible things over the years (I've been watching for 22 years) and I've liked them. I think I'm just willing to overlook a lot after everything I've seen.
I like JR as well. I hate the things he's done, especially the part where he almost killed Kendall and Spike, because I really liked his friendship with Kendall. And I hated that he beat Jamie with a crowbar or whatever that was because I didn't believe JR would ever really do that. And I wish he didn't still love Babe (and vice versa) because while they were fun together in the beginning, their relationship makes them both do sucky things. And part of the reason I like JR is that I'm shallow, because he is totally hot.

I'd have beated Jamie with a crowbar too. He tied JR up, threatened him with a crowbar, and told him that JR deserved to have his mother, his sister and his son die. And JR imo did it to get the hell away from Jamie.

I like Babe, too. She is annoying but most days other characters annoy me more.
Of course I also like Ryan and Jonathan so what do I know?

| Fearing that it would ruin her modeling career, she had an abortion, and never told Jeff about it. |
Actually, after Josh returned and it was revealed her was her son, Erica had a conversation with Joe Martin about her abortion and why she made that decision. According to 2006 Erica finding out she was pregnant caused her mental stress and anxiety because of her previous pregnancy with Kendall but, at the time of her pregnancy, she still didn't know she had given birth to Kendall.
Babe got her shares from Greenlee who, when she left town, wanted to stick it to Kendall one last time, I guess.
MegSwan- 01-04-2007
I don't remember it like that, but I admit that my memory could be cloudy. I was pretty mad at JR at the time, so he couldn't do a lot right in my eyes. But I still think that he could have hit Jamie once or twice to get away, and then left him alone. He didn't have to beat him to a bloody pulp like that. And then he pushed Bianca off that balcony, and I will never forgive the writers for not having her remember it and press charges. I hate when stuff just gets forgotten like that.
Kiran- 01-04-2007
And I never thought he pushed Bianca on purpose. I thought it was a freak accident. I did think he should have payed for the Kendall/Spike thing.
I've hated Babe and her mom since they waltzed in and deballed the Chandler men, so maybe my hate clouds me too :).

All this time I though Zarf was one of those smooshed up names. I thought it was Zach and a character named ___arf or someone so hateful the viewers were calling her Barf.
And I thought no character name could be worse than Babe (who will forever be a talking pig to me). But I was wrong. For lo, there is a Zarf.

Apparently Passions was cancelled, to make way for a fourth hour of the Today Show.
What the hell, people?
Did The Today Show ever have a talking doll and a witch who had known each other for centuries?
Did The Today Show ever have a prom that lasted four months?
Did The Today Show ever have anyone out picking mushrooms to destroy goodness?
Did The Today Show ever have a character get in a deadly car wreck, get out COMPLETELY UNSCATHED, and then replaced the actor a week later?
I'm going to go drown my sorrows in a Martimmy.
I need a hug.
jstilwe- 01-17-2007
I am so sad about this, which is odd considering I haven't watched in a couple of years. When is the last episode?
StephenTrendy- 01-17-2007
The show's on through June and according to Daniel at TVGuide, NBC is trying to extend it through August to wrap up all the storylines.

I love the theme song to Passions. Love it. It's so fun to sing along to.

Rumor has it that either AMC or OLTL are on the chopping block at ABC for the same reason: Good Morning America needs the extra hour to expand and compete with the Today Show.
I told my mother that rumor today and she was upset at the prospect of either one being cancelled. It's like Sophie's choice.
klk1714- 01-18-2007
I'm an avid watcher of OLTL (old habits die hard) and catch snippets of AMC and it's no secret over at ABC that Brian Frons (head of ABC Daytime) has had it out for the soap opera genre in general over there. OLTL especially has been feeling the brunt of his hold. He gets the final say in all casting decisions and has these "focus groups" come in to supposedly say what they want to see on the soaps. Apparently that is the backburning of major core characters and families and from time to time the potential killing off of major characters. And if they stay alive and are actually on screen for more then 5 minutes a week, then the character is either recast with someone with hardly any acting chops or turned into a shell of their former self.
I hate to say it but I could easily see OLTL being the soap to get axed if one does over at ABC. Then I'd guess they'd move AMC back one hour to make way for the apparent need of 4 f'hours of coffee-induced news chat. Barf.
But the writing has been on the wall over there for longer then I care to admit.
Regina Phalange- 01-18-2007
I would hate to see OLTL go, even though I only watch it occasionally. Although it hasn't been immune to casting untalented younger actors (Hi, Wooden Doll Who Plays Natalie!), it hasn't backburnered its long-time characters the way that GH and AMC have. GH is the only soap I still watch, and I love it despite all of its flaws, but the few times I've tried to watch AMC, I've found it unwatchable, mainly because it feels like nearly the entire cast has turned over. That weird jerky filming they're doing now isn't helping either.
