Rogar Howarth and Cady McClain were kind of a couple but mostly so that they could be involved in an extremely annoying story with Marie Wilson and Scott Bryce. It was easily one of the worst things on ATWT at the time (referred to as the "Quad of Doom" by many fans.) Cady was only there temporarily and left the show after it destroyed her character to shamelessly prop the Paul/Meg (RH and MW) relationship. Scott Bryce also left the show (or rather was fired over the phone over the holiday break) leaving only the two most annoying parts of the quad on the show. (Sorry I have some bitterness issues over this since I watched every episode and it was horrible.)

The thing is Roger Howarth is meant to be a little menancing. It just doesn't really seem to work all that way, which probably has a lot to do with the writing.

So what is the gossip with RH and this actress from ATWT?? It is just that, gossip? Or is there some truth to it? If so color me more then a little happy RH is not back at OLTL. I more then remember the rumblings RH had with KDP back in the day when she hooked up with her future husband on set (who was separated by the way from their current spouse) and RH had a problem with it. As much as I loved his old-school todd on OLTL (todd of 00s, God, talk about cringe-worthy) I could really believe his pre-madonna tendencies on set.

I never really bought those rumblings. I mean KDP and RH reportedly got along okay, and I never really thought anyone had a huge problem with it except for fans.

Supposedly their dating, and have split from their spouses. Its hysterical how those crazy fans are saying things like "I find nothing rootable about this pairing offscreen" and going into long tirades about his poor wife feels, and how they are using his kid as a prop. Until finally someone said "For all we know his wife dumped him before this".

And really considering how notoriously press shy RH has been since the "RAPE ME TODD!" stuff, I dont see him doing a big media blitz, so who knows what the hell happened there.

Yes, and they're all going on about how Roger Howarth was "clearly" using his daughter as a pawn in all of this, because he walked the red carpet with Marie and his kid. They're really obsessed with hating them. If they cheated on their spouses, yeah, it sucks, but guess what? The world will keep turning, on the soap and in life.

They're acting like Roger Howarth was THEIR husband or something.

Genie Francis is going back to GH for a quick visit.

I am torn because I feel like she deserves better than GH, but also, Laura needs to be back full time.

I love how shes so passive aggressive to Guza though. Like she aint gonna lie and say Laura being gone has anything to do with her.

Bumping to say the most exciting thing on OLTL during the 40th anniversary episodes was Mel and Dorian. God I love and miss Mel. He and Dorian were my favorite couple ever, and I know blixie disagrees with me on that. I love David too. But still. I always thought Mel loved and respected Dorian as she was, but also always thought she had it in her to do better.

That being said, much as I love Melissa Archer, she was just not good.

Fucking Ben and Blondie shit. Mel and Dorian, now that was a bittersweet reunion and one that should have lasted WAY longer. Viki getting all pouty, teary-faced over leaving her precious bartender benji. God. Exactly how many times am I gonna see viki snot-faced saying goodbye to this douche? There was saying goodbye before he went into his predicted "coma", saying goodbye again when he awoke from coma couple years later, then saying goodbye AGAIN when they were going to take his heart for viki's transplant. All of this accompanied by overplayed montages of their "oh so wonderful" bike trips and bar/pool love-making. As you can tell, was not a fan of the ben/viki hour. That and it was a cheap rip-off when viki died before and met joe on that spaceship to heaven thingy. I really don't remember that, was too little, but seen clips and well basically I just prefer that more because joe is not ben.

I thought it was sort of sweet. I don't really have particular thoughts on Viki and Ben since I was only a casual viewer then, but from the scenes I got a real sense of how happy the two of them were to be acting together again and it was just so warm and lovely. Melissa Archer was not so good, but she also got kind of a terrible part to play. And I love seeing young Spencer as a total hellchild. That was a funny touch.

Erin Torpey looked GORGEOUS. I wish she'd come back to the show. Nothing against Bree Williamson; it was just so NICE to see Original Jessica. Maybe some other soap will snap her up. I was sad Jessica Tuck's schedule didn't allow for her to come back, because that would've been great. I loved Megan and the whole "Fraternity Row" thing, and her romance with Joe Lando.

Her part was terrible. I also have to say I got what they were doing but the whole "lets let her play the Mexican character!" thing when shes like the whi-*test*-('") white ever made me uncomfortable.

I never loved Ben and Viki, but I didnt hate them either, so I thought it was sweet. Plus he is her most recent dead husband. It would have been nice if it was Joe, but the actors dead and they saw him in Eterna. And for reals did anyone ever care about Sloane? I have to remind myself that he and Andrew are related. And yeah Erin Torpey looks good. Shes grew up just amazingly well.

The thing that got me about ben/viki and a lot of the viewers at the time was that the actor that played Mel Hayes was basically fired from his role and rumor was it was so they could bring on Ben. And it was like boom one week after the plane crash viki meets ben and totally acts like a 13-year old lovestruck girl around him. Her personality kind of went from day to night and her main priority was ben, ben, ben, meanwhile her kids lives are in upheavel (as they always are) and viki pretty much turned a blind eye to it because she was all about ben. Didn't help the fact that the guy playing ben really couldn't act beyond one-liners and nostril-rage (think antonio a few years ago). Was too bad because what I saw of him in interviews the guy looked like a fun guy to be around, I just wish they would have cast him in a different part, and one that wasn't viki's love interest. No offense to Viki, I flove her but watching them in love scenes was like watching a guy go at it with his grandma. It's like they were trying to go for the excitement that dorian and younger joey had but it just didn't work with viki and ben IMHO.

And of course all of viki's other husband's, great loves were basically tossed aside within like a year because ben was viki's one true love. I was all for viki having a life outside her family and love, kind of like what her and charlie have now. But with ben it was just, ah. Overplayed and shoved down your throat and viki, well she just wasn't viki. She was like a teenager which would have been okay if it had been a phase but it went on for 3 1/2 years. I much prefer her and charlie, they met in a quirky way but it works and viki's personality isn't totally sacrificed and re-written to prop up charlie.

Um for anyone who has read and been irritated by Carolyn "It's Only My Opinion" Hinsey, she of the mens can't be raped belief, there is a great thread Jossip about her finally getting the axe. It is vicious and awesome, because whoo baby she apparently was a monster bitch from hell to work for.

It's mostly awesome because lots of ex staffers are dishing the dirt, including that Ricky Paul Goldin/Rick Hearst hooked up at the Emmy's a few years ago, and Tom Eplin gave an editor herpes. DUDE.

Oh my God, comment #45 -- the parody editor's letter from Lynn Leahey -- is HILARIOUS. And spot-on, esp the bit about the steak dinner.

Did anyone watch the last episode of Passions? I haven't watched regularly for at least four years -- what the hell have they been doing over there? Eve/Julian's son is a hermaphroditic, father-seducing-and-dismembering, incest-baby-having serial killer? Who dressed in half-drag? WHAT.
