I remember reading somewhere that OLTL had shot itself in the foot by submitting the Prom Night musical episode as one of its two hours.

I think they might have had to, to accurately represent that half the year was written by Dena Higley. God I hope they had to because otherwise OY.

big chicken- 06-21-2008
But wouldn't any other hour of Higley material be better?

Kiran- 06-21-2008
...Not necessarily. Flashback to Margaret.

blixie- 06-21-2008
Right, plus it was Fron's pet project what with the HSM synergy and all, as you could see with Cam pimping KA/BB and the musical montage, like it was actually good?! Gag.

Can I just say how charming and likable Cameron Mathison is in real life? I've thought that for years. Its too bad ever since his return a few years back Ryan has sucked.

ulkis- 06-21-2008
Yeah, Ryan is at his best when Cameron Mathison just gets to act like himself. (And he's really smart too! Apparently he got a 4.0 in college majoring in engineering or something like that.)

Kiran- 06-22-2008
Thats probably why Frankenbrow Ryan? Sucks. Original recipe Ryan, all snarky and a con artist? Awesome.

ETA: I love the soap dish thread but those crazy Roger Howarth (whom I love but still) fans are freaking me out with their hate on for Marie Wilson. I get that they dislike the character, but really you don't know these people. Fricking morality police.

Gillian- 06-22-2008
I keep hoping Cameron Mathison will just ditch the acting thing already and go full-time host. He already hosts everything anyway, and he seems to like it. I find him a bit shouty, but he gets to be non-douchey and people get to like him. I saw a commercial for some show with him on TLC a few weeks ago. Embrace this career path, Mathison! Ryan sucks and you know it!

So...General Hospital won Best Show and Alicia Minshew wore an ugly old lady dress. As far as I'm concerned, the Daytime Emmys didn't even happen. Also, this:

Please tell me KdP was forced to say that stuff about the "Real Marty Saybrooke".

Seriously? I thought ABC learned its lesson after the epic backlash for the Real Greenlee nonsense. What is WITH these people?

big chicken- 06-22-2008
Yeah, Kassie, Susan Haskell, and the emo cop dude from OLTL presented an award together. Kassie said something about what a pleasure it was to be working with the real Marty Saybrooke again. I don't know if Kassie said spontaneously because she really is happy to be working with SH again or if it was written for her. If it's the former, then it's more forgiveable in my eyes even if the sentiment should have been worded better. If it's the latter, than ABC is still as classless as always.

Looks like not much as changed as when RH was Todd on OLTL. Man some of those message boards, ah, I've never seen it's equal. Whether it was tearing apart piece by piece Kassie DePaiva (blair) or any other woman todd was paired with, man it was brutal.

That being said, my mom watched ATWT and it's still weird to catch RH as blonde Paul and him "smiling" and stuff..kinda creepy after years and years of watching him be the orginal bad-ass todd for so long.

Heather- 06-23-2008
I hear you -- everyone's all, "Jaw Wilson... Evil Jaw Wilson..." I think she's pretty.

I'm guessing Kassie de Paiva is just thrilled to have Susan H back, and she sort of spoke without thinking -- it's possible the OLTL people didn't quite grasp what a disaster the whole "Real" Greenlee thing was, and don't know they're marketing her as "Original" Marty instead of "real."

Also, I totally agree that Cameron Mathison is better as himself. I keep hoping they'll give him John Black style amnesia, where he forgets the sappy blah side of himself and only knows himself to be a con artist, and turns snarky again.

Kiran- 06-23-2008
Seriously, I kinda responded to it in the actual thread and tried to be as unfrothy at the mouth as I could. But seriously? Pretty lady. And its not like you know these people, so why are you acting like your Howarth's wife? And laughing over Wilson getting divorced?

Yeah I'm guessing KDP and SH are friends and thats why she burst out with that, I dont think she meant anything by it.

And oh God that would be awesome. "Wheres Gillian?" "....uh."

big chicken- 06-23-2008
I don't understand why anyone would think Marie Wilson has the clout to dictate storylines. I can think of maybe four or five people who may have the power to get a storyline changed and Marie Wilson isn't one of them. If someone did have that power, I think I'd have heard of the actress and her character before now. People may not watch AMC or GH, but they've heard of Luke Spencer or Erica Kane.

Is there something extra scandalous about Roger Howarth and Marie Wilson hooking up beyond the breakup of a marriage? Does one of them have a dying spouse or break the news by text message or their blog or publically catigate someone for adultery only to be found guilty of the same?

Gillian- 06-23-2008
I, too, love that soap gossip thread, but man. All those initials are killing me. I usually don't mind them in the individual soap threads because the context usually makes it easy to figure out who's being discussed, but that is so not the case in that thread. My browser loaded all wonky and I saw a post about RH and MW's seekrit romance. For some reason I thought the poster was talking about ABC Daytime, so I was all, "WHAT??? Ric Hearst and Megan Ward are having a secret love affair?!? That is shocking!"

Were Roger Howarth and Cady McClain's characters a couple on ATWT? I thought I read that (I don't watch that show), and it was so weird. That's Todd and Dixie, people, I don't care what CBS tells me their names are. I surfed past it once and had to do a double-take at all the ABC refugees. Ned Quartermaine! Todd Manning! Dixie Martin! All living under assumed names and not acting like themselves!

big chicken- 06-23-2008
I tried getting into ATWT but couldn't. I kept expecting Roger Howarth's character to go psycho and menacing on me.
