Have you heard? Antonio Sabato Jr is joining the cast of Night Shift 2. As Jagger!

Kiran- 06-11-2008
Damn! That almost makes me want to watch Night Shift 2, but the first one sucked so bad. I mean, they wasted Billy Dee Williams!

Okay I feel really really ashamed saying this (particularly after I admitted he had a surprisingly nice chest), but I find Spinelli and Maxie kind of adorable. And when he punched out that racist dude yesterday, I went "Dayum".

I hate myself.

Nah, I'm not sure how it happened but Kirsten Storms (I mean really Kirsten Storms?) has turned Maxie into a ray of light in a sea of suck, and she and Spinelli are kind of adorable together. And by god she's made me like Sarah Brown's Claudia, I thought them bonding over their mutual Lulu hate was really fun, even if the storyline is typical GH misogyny and feels it necessary to have Maxie seduce Johnny for money. I mean c'mon he's attractive and it will spite Lulu that's all the motivation Maxie needs. If it were any other soap I'd hope for a Johnny/Lulu/Spinelli triangle, but we all know Maxie the Hoor will end up alone and probably jobless and friendless as well.

Kiran- 06-11-2008
Seriously I HATED Belle, but yet here? It reminds me of Jacob Young who I think is fantastic on All My Children, but loathed on General Hospital.

I used to love Lulu. Somewhere around the way too sped up romance with Logan, and her shrieking and Carly emulating I stopped. And now I think a part of the reason I'm rooting for Maxie/Spinelli is because it would make her brain burst.

Also I think Maxie needs a good guy. I mean, for reals lets look at her relationships: the two guys she actually loved were brutally killed, she had that horrendous Lucky thing (which was mostly her fault, but still traumatic), and her losing her virginity was broadcast on the net. Its so sad but believable that she would say she liked Spinelli too much to have sex with him.

I totally saw you on the soap gossip thread at TWoP and went "HEY!"

blixie- 06-11-2008
GH is freaking me out a little this week, I mean I like Maxie, I like Maxie/Claudia, I like Maxie/Spinelli, I like Johnny/Claudia, I love Lucky/Sam, and of course Scrubs, but it's like those stories are just the scallops around the edges of a deep dark Carly/Sason/Lulu shaped hole. They all need to DIAF, but fires have come and gone , and yet they live.

I totally started that gossip thread just to shut up the deranged people in the OLTL thread who think Kassie Depaiva was unilaterally considered the whore of Babylon for hooking up with James while both were still married, and that TPTB did her like the Scarlet Letter by hooking her up with Todd to punish her. Yes because Todd and Blair hasn't fed her career for going on almost 15 years now. I mean if you wanna sling the shit, sling it in a proper container, I kind of can't believe a mod hasn't slapped it down yet, hee. Not that I'm not loving almost everything I'm hearing posted, Cady McClain's perpetual unrequited love for Michael E. Knight? AWESOME.

Gillian- 06-11-2008
That Hunter Tylo/Kimberlin Brown midget bodyguard story (are those the right actresses?) seriously made my week. I love that thread.

I remember when Cady McClain blogged about her unrequited love for Michael E. Knight. Never have I found anything to be so awkward and awesome at the same time. I hated Dixie during her last stint as a living person, but damn did I love Cady's blog. The woman is a nut.

I've never understood the thinking that KDP was being punished by putting her in a frontburner storyline with talented performers work with. Yes, it must have been horrible for Kassie to have to memorize all those lines, get all that screen time, and have to work with the likes of Roger Howarth, Susan Haskell, and Thorsten Kaye. How she managed to make it through that time is a -*test*-('")ament to her strength and dedication to her art.

Kiran- 06-11-2008
Also it must have really sucked when Todd and Blair become one of the most popular couples OLTL has ever had. Really, that must have been horrible.

I totally want MEK and Cady McClain to get together now.

blixie- 06-12-2008
Hee, y'know if I had read Cady's blog first person I probably would have felt the awkward as well as the awesome, but learning of it secondhand I'm happily squeeing away everytime I see those Touched by DixieAngel AMC commercials now.

Also Steve Burton being hung up on Kimberly McCullough? Saweet.

Well and really I think if that thread has taught us anything it's that James and Kassie were hardly unique and special and worthy of being shamed via storylines. Two married cast members doing each other on a soap set? That's not a scandal, it's a Tuesday.

Bradleigh- 06-12-2008
I thought I read something way back in the day that James (Max) and Fiona Hutchinson (Gabrielle) had an affair back in the 80s during their heydey on OLTL as the sexed-up couple. So if that were true, it seemes James should have gotten more of the shunning then kassie.

But yeah, pairing her up with Todd, hardly a bad career move..I'm sure it helped cement blair on the canvas permanently. That and I know TPTB didn't see TnB becoming this huge super-couple. But I thought Malone (head-writer at the time) saw them as a Rhett and Scarlett, no BS between them and loads of chemistry. Of course it's amazing over the years through each regime TnB still manages to be a front-burner couple. They've been to hell and back and to hell more then a few times. Had 5 weddings, 4 almost weddings...even if right now I think they are pretty stagnant (looking at you new todd, throw some passion/smarts into your scenes) they are still around.

Kiran- 06-12-2008
For all their shit, I really do think Todd and Blair are OLTL's signature couple. Their one of those couples...I never worry when they break up (although I hate the shit that they sometimes make them do to each other, usually Todd to Blair, but Dear God does the Sam S/L still give me traumatic flashbacks), because they'll end up back together within a year.

I like Trevor St. John (and his porny, porny name), but I do have to say I miss Roger Howarth. He might have been a pill, but he and Kassie lit it up together.

Heather- 06-12-2008
There is also a part of me that's like.... listen, if they hooked up while they were both still married, that sucks for their partners, but I don't know what their marriages were like, and JDP and KDP are still married lo these many years hence, and seem happy. So it's not like they just nailed each other and it shattered their marriages and they forgot about it a year later.

Kiran- 06-12-2008
Plus from what I've heard KDP is pretty close to her stepdaughter, and they seem to be a fairly happy blended family, so whatever happened seems to have worked out okay.

big chicken- 06-12-2008
I think as long as it doesn't affect production of the show, TPTB don't give a damn who's doing whom. How did this idea that KDP was being punished start anyway?

blixie- 06-13-2008
I have NO idea, but trust, there are OLTL fans who preach it like Gospel. I do believe there were ruffled feathers BTS, I think Erika Slezak was put out by it and certainly Roger Howarth was as well, but he strikes me as one gigantic pain in the ass, regardless.

The return of Tina Lord was everything I could have hoped for, I was clapping and squeeing, her naming the lapdog David Vickers is Tina all over. She's just so fabulously campy. Everything to do with the penthouse stuff was awesome yesterday. Ramsey gets blown away, Tina gets her jewels stolen, and Todd and his man Keys are killing me, winding up to the Todd finding Marty reveal. Huzzah.

I also love that Ron Carlivati has been naming the episodes since he came back from the strike and this one was "Princess of Power", which is hilarious since I think Tina is defined by never really taking responsibility for anything she does and she's all about playing the pretty powerless princess. She and Cain are so obviously running a game to get those jewels.
