| And the most annoying thing, to me at least, is that Jared won't be punished because it'll be an "accident". Nevermind that he's responsible if Nash dies. |
Total word. I was actually starting to warm up to jared (that's saying something considering how I loathed him when he came on the scene). But the minute they had natalie find out and KEEP her normally big mouth shut, then only to have them start screwing each-other every time they could find a moment alone. Ugh. What happened with nash seals my hate for this guy. I never bought natalie as the real buch. I'm still hoping one day for a history re-write (they've re-written much more major history) and have jess re-claim her title as the real buch and nat as some washed up kid of whoever.
Mainly I don't want to see jessica just cry about this and not do anything to jared or her good for nothing long-lost brat of a "twin" sister. If this isn't the time for jess's claws to come out and maybe call natalie on some of the shit she's done since coming into her life, I don't know what is.
Natalie wanted everyone in town to kiss her ass and build her a shrine of sympathy when she thought John McBain died (A-hole wasn't even DEAD) and he was just her screwed-up boyfriend. Poor jessica's lost her husband and father of her two (one yet to be born) children. They better not just blow this off.

I hope that too. And I say this as someone who likes Jared / Natalie, but that was wrong sorry, you don't get to throw people into skylights.

| And she needs to seriously start wearing some higher-cut tops. |
No way, I love Mt. Natterest. And I like Nat/Jared, and while it's messed up that Nash has been killed off, I think it's a great soapy way for it to happen, though admittedly the blocking/stunts on the show often makes things come off far worse than they intend I think.
I am just enjoying the holy hell out of DorLor right now. Loved the way she dropped the bomb on Nat/Jared's fauxcest, you better hope not cause your sisters nailing him. Hee.
I can not wait for David and Dorian to find out he's the real Buke Boy, the irony it burns. Also, Asa with son who files his nails and whose proudest accomplishment is his tan makes my laugh a whole lot.

AHHHH...Nash's final moments today with Jessica and little Bree. Crying my eyes out at fictional characters like I knew them or were loved ones. Dammit, that was some hard soap to watch.
Valentini and Frons suck it. Suck it long and suck it hard.

Ugh, now I remember why I didn't want Nash to die, because Bree is a painfully limited actress. Great dress on Bree though, I think that's another plus for the RC era, he fired the lady who dressed everyone really really badly, Blair worst of all, which what the hell there might not be a better body to dress in daytime.
Kiran- 06-09-2008
What you didnt like the Hammer pants?
Heather- 06-09-2008
I liked Bree Williamson as Tess, but yeah, the scenes with dying Nash were painful -- she was so SCREECHY when she found out he was going to die, and when she went to do the praying monologue. All I could think of was how everyone on set must have been sort of cringing. It felt very stereotypical. Quiet, choked grief can be so much more affecting on soaps than histrionics.

Why'd they kill of Nash? I was under the impression that both the character and actor were popular.
Also, Marty's coming back? Again? Will she at least look like Susan Haskell this time? I've never really watched OLTL as a teenager/young adult, but Todd's trial for Marty's rape was one of the first soap storylines* I ever saw. I can't quite wrap my brain about that. My mom watched all three ABC soaps at one time or another. GH was her favorite, and she made that hour our nap time because she didn't want my siblings and me to be corrupted by all the sex. Any time she let me stay up and watch with her, she would change the channel during love scenes. Which, fine, I was a little kid. I get that. But she had no qualms about letting me watch a rape trial. WTF, Mom? I still remember Nora realizing that Todd did it and going all crazy ranty during her closing arguments and forcing the judge to declare a mistrial. And then later on she went blind and Todd got out of jail and started stalking her during the holiday season. Fun times.
*The other first story I ever saw for an extended period of time was Dominique dying on GH. Man, that shit was sad. My mom exposed me to some depressing crap when I was a kid.
Kiran- 06-10-2008
That was my first OLTL s/l too! My stepmom let me watch the trial though. And how good was Roger Howarth? He made me go from hating him to thinking he and Blair were the most awesome thing ever (they were by the way).
Heather- 06-10-2008
That trial was good TV. Loved it.

Yep, Susan is coming back. She was thinking about it the first time, but then she got pregnant and it wasn't feasible for her to do it on their timetable, but OLTL moved ahead with the story anyway and just decided to recast. Then when that flamed out, they went back to her to see if she was ready to contemplate returning again, and voila.

So then where are all the classy "The REAL Marty returns!" commercials? ABC's falling down on the job.
blixie- 06-10-2008
OLTL is the redheaded stepchild of ABC daytime so it never gets any media push about anything. Hell Tina Lord/Andrea Evans is coming back and nada.
Adrianna/Rex were great today, I've always loved Melissa Gallo-Fumero, though she had some rough times under Higley like everyone else, I'm glad to see her show up most of the younger cast these last few weeks. I also loved Blair/Addie, I've only been waiting on a Blair's daddy storyline since forever.
big chicken- 06-10-2008
But Fake!Marty isn't on the show anymore, there's no point in trumpeting the original actress's return.
One of my favorite moments in the Todd&Marty saga is when Todd was yet again playing dead/left town and Marty was the one to discover that he was alive/back in town/never left. It was during a storm and I think Marty takes shelter in the cabin where Todd is hiding out. Todd sees it's Marty and he screams while lightning flashes in the background, "Why is it always YOU!" I thought it was hilarious. Because, you know, Marty had a way of getting in the way of Todd's plans. OLTL always had a bit of humor about stuff like that.
Kiran- 06-10-2008
I used to love those funky July 4th shows they did. Especially the switched body ones. Todd dressed up as Viki, having a Niki episode was awesome in so many ways. As well as Max and Gabrielle dressed up as each other, getting it on while their very 80s love theme played.
Today made me remember how much I used to like Adriana/Rex together. They really were adorable in the beginning.

They're up -- they're promoting Marty and Tina together as "The ORIGINAL Marty" and "The ORIGINAL Tina." Guessing they learned from the Budig/Sabine Singh catastrophe.
