It's so so so dumb. That's like bringing back Reese and saying "remember short-lived character from a couple years ago?! IT'S THEM." What a ball-less plot twist. :(
Swarley- 02-22-2008
My main problem with that storyline is ISN'T DIEGO DEAD?! I could swear he died not long after Sage. And if he didn't then that shows how much I cared about his character but I do remember this: NO WAY WOULD DIEGO HAVE KILLED GEORGIE! Fuck that noise.
MaddyCat- 02-22-2008
Yep, SAM killed Diego a long time ago, back when Diego was ga-ga for Georgie (and I thought they had good chemistry), so, yeah, no way in HELL does Diego come back from the dead and kill the girl he was in love with. So. Very. Dumb.
I can't figure out why I keep watching this soap when I abhor everyone on it.
StephenTrendy- 02-23-2008
This is why I shouldn't get so far behind on my stories...I end up spoiled. But, Soap Opera Digest said that the guy who plays Diego was spotted on set, so there's that.
I kind of wanted it to be Lucas. Here's how I think it should have played out: Guy (that was his loser boyfriend's name, right?) broke up with Lucas via text message and Lucas freaked out and decided to be straight, but that didn't work (obvs), so he decided he'd just start killing women who he knew in Port Charles (some sort of psychological rationalization). After he killed Georgie, he kind of freaked out and started framing Coop. When Coop found out, he hanged him and made it look like suicide. Then, he falls in love with Logan (who redeems Lucas through some story I haven't though of yet) and they have a whole, "I'm not gay, but I like you", "Omg, you're so gay, I love you", "yeah, I am gay, I love you too" thing going on. It brings Lucas back (from somewhere that's not dead), gives him an actual story and ends Lulu and Logan. The only problem is that Lucas probably wouldn't have killed Georgie either.

...I actually think despite their CRAPTACULAR story, Lulu and Logan have good chemistry.
That being said I also thought Lulu and Diego had great chemistry and they never capitilized on that or the wonderfully soapy story they could have come up with had they used it (In trying to break up GQ, Lulu and Diego fall in love.)
And I'm sorry I would have HATED that story. I really would have. This show has done enough to Tony that they dont need to make his son a murderer.
StephenTrendy- 02-23-2008
Well, I kind of would have hated it too. I just want Lucas back. Seriously, they had him come out and then disappear. Another option would be to have Manny Ruiz come back and avenge his own death. But frankly, I was sick of him by the time he died. Really, the Text Message Killer was just a very stupid idea that had nowhere to go from the beginning. I'm just glad it wasn't a Quartermaine (like there are any of them left).
And now it brings back Diego, who I hated and I really had thought all the Alcazars were gone for good.
Kiran- 02-23-2008
Dude, you know if Guza had his way it would have been AJ.
I'd rather see Lucas/Tommy Hardy fall in love. Now that would be awesome.
StephenTrendy- 02-23-2008
Haha. Yeah, god forbid A.J. Quartermaine get any sort of dignity on GH. Or any of the Quartermaines, except for Jason. Which, why couldn't he be the TMK? Oh, because Jason is moral and upright and would never hurt anyone. Unless Sonny told him to.
I'm really finding my hatred for GH that I used to reserve for Days and Passions. Especially Days after they wrapped up the Salem Stalker storyline and every story was kind of in limbo and the Alex North fiasco and all that and then the Black Glove Crimes that really didn't go anywhere but sort of did. A mess. Which is what GH is thanks to the scab writers who just kind of made shit up as they went along.
I just want Lucas to come back. And also Alan, and Laura and Coop and Georgie and Dillon. Kill off Sonny and Jason and make Carly deaf and mute. Oh, and tell Tony Geary to stop taking so many vacations because it totally derails Luke's storyline.
Kiran- 02-23-2008
Oh God Jason, I hate Jason so much. JASON IS NOT JESUS! is my mantra when it comes to this show.
And I HATE that they derailed ten years of LnL2 history for fucking Liason and we have to put up with hearing how no one deserves a kid more than Jason. Really? No one? What about Mac whose spent his life being an excellent parent to children that werent (biologically) his? Or Jax whose desperate for kids, and is wonderful to all the children in his vicinity? Or Lucky whose raising Liz's two kids like they were his own STILL? Really? Not them? The brain damaged hitman with a weirdass bond to his greasy mafiaso BFF? Alrighty.
Also Steve Burton is a HORRIBLE actor. They threw Billy Motherfucking Warlock over the bus for that? Dude is awesome and ageless...much like the similarly trashed Rick Hearst.

ITA. I gave up on General Hospital about a year ago because it became ALL MOBSTERS ALL THE TIME! AFFAIRS 'R' US! MURDER ON DEMAND-ASK ABOUT OUR FINANCING!
And then because an actor I like is doing a recurring spot as the Mayor of Llanview on One Life To Live, I'm being forced to sit through that one, too. Although I've been taping it and then fast-forwarding through it all so I don't have to actually become attached to anyone. Although as bad as all soap storylines have been the last few years, I don't think that'll be a problem.
Kiran- 02-23-2008
One Life to Live is actually really good right now. Its scary.
StephenTrendy- 02-23-2008
Yeah, but that's because they got new writers who hadn't wrecked other soaps before. I mean, they fire Dena Higley and then NBC hires her for Days? WHAT? And why the hell does Jill Farren Phelps still have a job at GH? She SUCKS!
Strangely, OLTL is the probably the best soap that's not on CBS (which seems to have the market on good soaps (save GL which went downhill when Conboy was in charge).
Kiran- 02-23-2008
I'm actually kinda liking GL right now. Bill/Lizzie is awesome. Jonathan going crazier is awesome, and Marina finding a backbone is awesome.
Harley/Cyrus sucks though and so does the out of nowhere Olivia/Gus/Natalia triangle.
StephenTrendy- 02-23-2008
That's good. I stopped watching everyday when Reva started traveling through that painting that looked like Olivia and then the Marianne Caruthers storyline made me change the channel. To Passions. Like, you know it's bad writing when I'll settle for Passions.
But I think GL did mob storylines really well. First, the Santos family (except Brother Ray and Pilar) was actually evil, unlike Sonny Corinthos's house of moping and bipolar disorder. Carmen scared the crap out of me whenever she came on the scene. Sonny just makes me laugh. And it was presented as it should be, that the mob was a bad thing for Springfield. Danny and Michelle fought over his mob ties all the time. It was good soap. GH's mob crap is not.
And I love Marina. I've kept up with the show through my mother who still watches it religiously. But the last time I tuned in, I didn't recognize a single set except for the Spaulding mansion and Towers.
Kiran- 02-23-2008
Also Danny fought DESPERATELY to get out of the mob. And then did. He hated his life. So...thats how its done, GH.
