Passions is now on DirectTV. I have to tell my mother about this. She hated the show but it was like crack to her.
Kiran- 10-31-2007
Hee, you know Ben Masters and Juliet Mills get drunk everyday together. Passions is cracky bad, but those two are too good for it.
Gillian- 11-01-2007
Holy crap. That's insane. And so very Passions, I guess. I can't wait to tell my brother.
In other soap news, AMC has snagged
Celine Dion for a sweeps episode later in the month. To which I say, WTF? This show just registered it's lowest ratings ever (and the lowest ratings of all the soaps!), so they pull out the big guns and get . . . Celine Dion? Really? I thought ABC Daytime stopped caring about the older demographic. As much as I loved Celine Dion when I was a Titanic-obsessed 13-year-old (shut up), I doubt she's going to be pulling in the 18 to 35-year-olds.

I just found out that TPTB have killed off Emily Quartermaine on GH. This upsets me for two reasons.
1) I haven't enjoyed the character in a long time, but I once adored Emily and I can find myself adoring her again if the writing was better and the character was played by a better actress. Now, if I ever go back to watching GH, Emily will not be around and there's no chance of bringing her back since the character did not die in a way where she could be resurrected. In fact, I suspect her entire family won't be around when Guza finally leaves GH.
2) I hated the actress playing her and the only good thing about Natalia Livingston being a contract player on GH was the knowledge that she wan't available for other shows. Now the actress is free and I'm going to have to be on guard to make I don't accidentally catching her "acting" on any of the shows I watch.
Swarley- 11-17-2007
I was upset Emily died because I loved Emily as played by Amber Tamblyn. I always hoped she would one day come back to the role. Even just as a guest spot. But as for resurrecting her I say it's never impossible on a soap opera.
big chicken- 11-17-2007
I'm actually more upset for reason #2 than #1. Now I have to practice constant vigilance to make sure Natalia Livingston doesn't pop up on screen unexpectedly. If I'm lucky, she'll get a part on another soap and I won't have to worry.

I'm sad because their totally killing off the Quartermaines one by one (they killed Alan and AJ before this, they've made Michael and Jason completely into Corinthos, Ned and Brooklyn are off canvas, Edward is never seen, and Tracy is all thats left). Their also ruining the Spencers. I hate the Luke and Laura bashing, I hate that Lulu (who I used to love) is being turned into Carly, I hate that Lucky is probably now gonna turn out to be a serial killer because he dared to speak out again St. Jason of Borgdom, I hate that they have Luke say shit like "Now I have a woman who excites me and FINALLY gets it." and I hate that Genie Francis is willing to return, yet Laura is still a fucking wig on a stick. And I hate that they broke up Lucky and Liz the way they did. They were hugely popular (particularly during the Jonathan Jackson years), they lost their virginity to each other and were together on and off for TEN years and to have them sacrificed to the altar of Jason was disgusting.
I am liking Guiding Light though. I blame Lizzie and Bill.

Jason telling Monica about Emily was painful to watch. Especially when he told her he'd get her someone and she just said, "Who?" It's so sad to realize most of the Quatermaine family is dead. I'll admit though. Listening to Edward and Monica cry over Emily I cried a
lot little.
So in honor of (old awesome) Emily some YouTube videos:
Coming clean about Alan's drug addiction.Standing up to the Quatermaine's.Meeting Lucky for the first time. (Awwwww.)
Kiran- 11-20-2007
Amber Tamblyn was a fab actress even when she was wee. I also loved her and Zander together. And oh Jonathan Jackson please come back. Greg Vaughn is fine as hell, but I get the feeling TPTB might treat Lucky better because of your amazing (versus Greg Vaughn's sweet) chemistry with Rebecca Hearbst and Tony Geary. Also your buttload of Emmys.
And I too cried. That was just sad. Monica's lost her husband and all her kids, and Michael's a creepy little mafioso in training. (I mean Jason is not the kid she raised, and hasnt been for 11 years). And poor lonely Edward. In the last couple of years hes lost his son, his wife, three of his grandkids...
I love the Qs. I miss the nineties/early 2000s you guys.

I love JJ too much to want him to come back to this shit show, although I'd love to see him act with RH/TG/TC again and JMB, although that might be weird since they're practically the same age. I wish they had casted someone younger in that role.
So JJ, please stop focusing on your band and maybe you'd get more roles dude.
But I do wish they would recast Lucky. I like GV and would miss his fine ass. But I miss someone who is a very good actor (imho) in a pivotal even more.
I really like Luke/Tracy. My UO as a L&L fan is that they're not being dissed in favor of Luke and Tracy. I wish Tracy wasn't so obvious about being in love with him though. It gives Luke too much power.

I miss Stefan and Laura. Not as a couple (hated it) but those two characters. :clings to edits:

I hate to see the Q family decimated like this. If I didn't already hate Guza for the mobsters taking over the show, I'd definitely hate him for killing off the Quartermaines one by one.
That clip of Lucky meeting Emily was so damn adorable and I loved how their conversation was about dogs and school and giving each other some background information (which did not involved anything with guns or hitmen). There's no way a scene like that would ever been written for any of the kids on the show now.

Those Mafia loving bastards at GH have killed Georgie! They are destroying every sane and likable character on the show.
To make matters worse >>Sarah Brown<< is returning but >>not as Carly! << WTF General Hospital?
big chicken- 12-22-2007
I was up until 3 last night watching clips of old school General Hospital. It was all so, so good. Now I remember why this show held my love and loyalty for so long and why I absolutely adored so many of the characters. It was so interesting to see Amber Tamblyn and Jonathan Jackson when they were young and raw again. You could see just how good they were going to get in a few years. I was bawling when Emily said goodbye to a dying Paige. The part that killed me:
Emily: You're always going to be in my heart. That way, if I need you, I'll know where to find you.
I didn't have the heart (no pun intended) to watch anything from BJ's heart. Also, I saw Georgie's birth and Maxie naming her baby sister Georgie instead of after BJ because Barbara Jean deserved to keep her own name and the baby should have her own identity. Plus, I got to see Kevin, Sigmund, Jason and AJ being brotherly, Laura (instead of a mop and wig), and Reginald.
My hate for Sonny is retroactively infecting his pre-assification scenes. I wanted to punch my laptop whenever he was onscreen even when he wasn't doing anything assy.
Edward's Thanksgiving nightmare as funny when you realize how prophetic it was. So many members of the family were dead and only one by natural causes.
Kiran- 12-22-2007
Poor, poor Georgie. That montage at the end reminded me of how much fun and how adorable her and Dillon were before they ruined it, and also how fantastic Scott Clifton was before they borefied Dillon. He wasnt the average young leading man, he was quirky, and sensitive and funny, kinda like how JJ's Lucky was, and he and Georgie were incredibly sweet together and I used to love how they used to argue books vs movies together. And also it remined me a A) John York is sexy B) Mac is an awesome character with a lot of history and C) he can act (him sobbing at the end had me sobbing), so why is he pushed off to the side while fucking Jason is allowed to run rampant with his box of man pain and bad hair and shit all over the history of Lucky and Liz? Oh, right. Forgot. Mob = Good.
Also Felicia's voice still sets me on edge.
And really, Georgie? Spinelli? You were married to Dillon and had Diego chasing after you. Even the squeezy professor had a thing for you. Hell, when Logan first came to town he thought you were hot. You could have done better.
big chicken- 12-22-2007
When I was waiting to pay at the grocery store, I was thinking about how no way in hell would a girl like Georgie--sweet, kind, smart, and smoking hot-ever have to fight for a guy's attention, much less a guy like Spinelli.
