| QUOTE | | I think Jason's got his own drama going on, |
I'm not even watching and I know that, but no one not writers, not robotic actors, not anybody will convince me that that bitch has EVER gotten over Robin, or that he ever will. So when he does learn about Scrub baby, I'm sure Burton will play it like I think he always does when it comes to Robin and do that petulant, pouty, 'you broke what was left of my human heart/parts you bitch' thing with his face, and since it's the only thing that differentiates from his usual, blink intensely but infrequently style of "acting" I interpret it as not over her, not even just a little bit.
More likely it is me who's not over it, heh.

Ugh don't say that! :( I hated Jason/Robin. Sarah Brown's Carly was my girl. The only actress that managed to have any sexual chemistry with the Borg. So yeah Jarly all the way! Michael and Carly mattered more to him than his precious Robin and they always will. Carly wormed his way into his heart too. He may have stopped physically cheating on Robin with Carly but I'm sure emotionally he did towards the end.
Jason just doesn't get over any of his exes, it's not Robin in particular. Even with Sam, I wouldn't be surprised if he starts making moon eyes at her again somewhere down the line.

| I started watching ATWT when I was about ten but gave up on it years ago. Predictably, as soon as I heard about the big gay kiss, I ran right over to YouTube and watched the entire storyline. And I'm good and hooked. |
I'm late to this, but I'm all over YouTubing Nuke. They're the only really classic romantic soap couple currently on my soap schedule, what with the hot chemistry, mutual self-sacrificing, longing and "oh-no-my-psycho-dad-paralyzed-my-cute-boyfriend-now-he'll-totally-hate-me!"/"my-hot-boyfriend-won't-want-me-now-that-I'm-paralyzed-I-should-let-him-off-the-hook-for-his-own-good" angst.
bbridges- 10-15-2007
I know. Nuke is so classic that it makes me practically giddy.

If I see one more person say, "I know soap sucks but you should watch As the World Turns for Luke/Noah," I am gonna beat someone with a stick*, especially since so many of these comments come from watchers of craptastic mediocrity** like "Supernatural" and "Smallville."
*I'm not really gonna beat anyone up with a stick, obviously. Just trying to show the strength of my irritation.
**I like SPN. But I don't think it's a masterpiece of TV or anything. And I'm not judging anyone's TV watching. I'm just, again, irritated at all the people who deign themselves to watch a soap now that there's a gay couple on it.

Dude. One of those poor kids is paralyzed now? Last I saw, one of them was doing his "Gay? Me? Nah!" dance.

Just the other day, I was mocked by a co-worker for watching soaps. Said co-worker then proceeded to get excited that "The Girls Next Door" was showing on E! in the break room. I believe I uttered a very loud "pshaw."

I know that attitude really pisses me off. Oh so now it's ok to watch a soap opera b/c there's a gay romance? Time to jump on the bandwagon? I don't watch ATWT anymore but I have to wonder what long time fans of the show feel about all these newbies coming into the fandom. Daytime fandom is kinda crazier than your regular night show fandom.

Must be annoying that all they wanna do is talk about Luke/Noah and nothing else, I'm guessing. I wouldn't've even minded if it was one person saying this, or that the 10 people saying it were all watchers of, I dunno, HBO series and nothing else. But this "soaps suck but watch" is chafing me. Don't people realize that most of the stuff on prime time now is one big soap anyway? You're already watching soaps!
gwendy- 10-21-2007
Many longtime ATWT fans would agree that the show largely sucks right now (they have two different quads that keep repeating themselves and mostly take up the whole show, stealing time from a lot of beloved veteran characters), at least that's what they say on the established soap boards I go to. I'm a longtime soap viewer and I think the whole medium has been going downhill for a while now, probably because of budget cuts affecting the writing. But I do agree that the generic "I don't watch soaps, because ewww, but I do love a good GAY storyline, so I watch for that" attitude is annoying. I mean, I may think soaps have gone downhill but I won't give up watching 'my stories' until they take them off the air.

On TWoP, they seem to be overexagerrating the awesomeness of the Nuke s/l just cause its a gay s/l. Like its the only s/l they want to talk about and everything else sucks.
I like it as much as I like most teen love stories on soaps. I admire the fact that their actually going there (especially with a male/male couple which seems more taboo on soaps then female ones), but while I like Nuke its no Robin/Stone, or Lucky and Liz, imo.

This doesn't bode well for Michael/Marcie. What a dumbass! This is such a disappointment. I've always liked Nathaniel, ever since he was Eddie on ATWT. And him getting rehired on OLTL after they killed off Al was also a great story. Now he's fucked.

What is the deal with this guy? I don't really watch OLTL, so I was only vaguely aware that there was some behind-the-scenes stuff going on when Al was killed off. I want to say they got rid of him because he was an ass and/or on drugs, but I don't remember. And then they hired him back right away, so I figured he couldn't bee too much of a pain in the ass, otherwise why bother?
blixie- 10-22-2007
OLTL fired him because he was late to set, a lot. He lost the ATWT job because he got into trouble with the police. His issues seem way beyond drug abuse, he sounds like he had a complete psychotic break.
For anyone who is a OLTL fan this interview with
Tuc Watkins is pretty awesome as it includes the disclosure that Tuc and Nathan once went out on Halloween together as Good and Evil Captain Kirk. I want to see those pictures.

Good F'riddance when they fire his ass...His michael/marcie/tommy SL has been killing me on OL. That and the guy cannot play subtle..He drew the lucky golden ticket in 2003 when they killed his character off and brought him back but a good chunk of that was them killing off a character..AL-who all the papers fail to mention was the role he played until 2004, was a very popular younger character so when they SORAS him and put in a interesting loving relationship (at the time) to kill him off majorly pissed off fans..Having him come back as ghost AL and morph into this michael mcbain who everyone else sees as Michael but the audience still sees him as al was one of the dumber SLs I've seen on a show period.

In your face ATWT! So it's a gay incest assbaby?

Passions: Vincent Is Pregnant! It's safe to say Phillip Jeanmarie will never get another role like this: His Passions character, Vincent, is a killer, tabloid snoop and randy intersexual (the term hermaphrodite is no longer PC) who recently donned female drag and had sex with his own father. On Nov. 5, Vincent finds out he's pregnant. Who's the daddy? His pop Julian, or was Vincent sperŽminated by his uncle Chad back when they were having their down-low affair? "As far as I know, Julian is the father, unless [head writer] James Reilly throws in a twist down the line," Jeanmarie says. "Don't forget, this is Passions intersexuals have male and female reproductive organs, so maybe Vincent is the father of his own baby. If so, I'll roll with it!"

OH, PASSIONS. (It's not longer on NBC, right? It must not be, because I had to record the Martha Stewart show for my neighbor and was all shocked that it was on at one.) Poor Ben Masters. He's a good actor! I just hope he's having fun.
