I hate that I totally called it back when Sam first ripped off the bad guy's mask during the hostage situation. I expected everyone to gasp and murmurs of "Jerry" to float through the room. Of course, that didn't happen but... now we find out Daniel Craig lite actually is Jerry Jax.

AMC airs a day late here, but coincidentally, Dr. Jamie pokes his head out of the self-righteous shell that had encapsulated his body to prove Adam really wasn't faking his heart attack (kinda funny when no one believed him after he had just tried to fake a stroke) and then again when baby Jenny was having breathing problems.

Last I checked James was emptying bed pans and had had what, a minute-and-a-half of medical school, but he sure knows how to use a pen for backroom treatments and spout medical jargon.

...and I totally agree that Jacob Young acts him out of the park. I never thought I'd say that, as I have a bad attitude about Bold and the Beautiful (something about that show has always annoyed me). I didn't like his pretty boy take on Lucky Spencer either, and I didn't like him as J.R. in the beginning (even if, compared to the stiff-as-a-board models they had in the interim, he was Laurence Olivier). Jacob has really hit his stride in the last few months.

Geez, Dr. Jamie is such a laugh. I hate that kid so much. I hope the actor leaves at the end of the summer as rumored, the character is off the canvas for a while, and that he returns recast as someone who can act. That would be nice.

Add me to the list of people who was completely (pleasantly) surprised by Jacob Young as JR. Aside from the rockin' bro-yay between him and the guy who played Nikolas at the time, he was so horrid as Lucky on GH. But he's good as JR. JR is currently dead to me, but I still think JY is pretty good.

I don't know if anyone else reads this blog, but it rules. It and the Fug Blog are currently my two favorite things about the internet that aren't named Snarkfest. The two girls who write for it apparently get to be in SOD now, which is completely awesome.

I love it too! They're awesome. And I love that they are adding their non Carolyn Hinsey opinion to SOD.

I wonder if those the one who writes about General Hospital ever hung out on the TWoP GH thread because some of the concepts like the Awesome Writer (only on TWoP he was the One Good Writer) were concepts that were prevalent when I was there.

I've got SoapNet for the week and I was watching YR and I saw Billy Warlock on that show. Bearing in mind he probably has had some work done and benefits from professinal makeup and lighting, but does any else disagree that Billy probably has a portrait in an attic somewhere? The guy has not seemed to age in the past ten years which is incredible given the amount of sun he was probably exposed to on Baywatch.

Seriously. Dude is 45. And if hes had work done its really good work. Also I love him. He was awesome on General Hospital and they totally screwed him.

Dudes, I flove Billy Warlock. He's on Y&R now? I loved his AJ, and he somehow managed to make me like Courtney back in the day.

I'm still bitter about how they treated him. Because a recovering alcoholic whose trying with all his might to stay sober is a lot worse than a brain damaged mob hitman. Or mob boss. Whatever.

He and Vincent Irizzary both joined Y&R as part of this senator s/l. So its a meh s/l, but its got two of my fave soap actors that abc treated badly (they actually told BW when he left to film that Baywatch reunion movie not to worry, that he was gonna get the girl, and AJ/Courtney was the new love story, and he came back and found out his character was a) a stalker and b) was losing to Jason once again).

Also, Billy Warlock was just plain excellent. He really was much better then Sean Kanan.

I hate the fact that AJ was killed and nothing came of it. If you're going to kill off a core member of a core family, then it has to resonate especially when it's a character like Alan Quartermaine, Jr. who as a baby had such a big role in a major storyline. If I'm ever made Queen of the Universe, I'm going to make GH retcon AJ's death like no show has ever been retconned before. Sean Kanan certainly looked more like a Quartermaine, but Billy Warlock was just so good in the role. I'm glad to see he's still working even if it's not a contract position.

It's funny, I've enjoyed watching Y&R and DoOL on Soapnet but I haven't been able to stomach more than a few minutes of The Sonny and Jason Hour or AMC. Probably because I grew up watching the ABC soaps (GH was my one true soap) and I'm not as invested in YR and DoOL's history or characters.

I hear 'ya with GH and ABC screwing great actors who are also major members of a core family. But what has always grated me is One Life to Live is my true soap and for years has been treated like the red-headed stepchild of ABC..so when GH is getting flack for treating good actorsl like crap, it's like welcome to my world in llanview. They just wrote out Phil Carey..he played asa for over 20 years and was a powerhouse to be reckon with. Yeah, his final scenes were nothing notable, no send-off, no nothing.. and if I didn't surf the web, I wouldn't even know that was his final scene. That and they killled another once hugely popular character, Gabrielle, in a bathroom stall, no funeral, no nothing..Yet they have a fucking 6 week mouring period for Michael Easton's character and the fucker ain't even dead. So it's like I can only feel so sorry for the other ABC soaps that have gotten the shit served to them with only a minor force of what OL has for the last 10 years.

I don't know if you watch or pay attention to any of the other ABC soaps other than OLTL but everything you've said about the treatment of Phil Carey or Fiona Hutchinson and their characters could have come from the mouths of any long time fan of an ABC soap these past six years. I don't know if it's as bad on the other networks, but ABC has very little interest in retaining long time fans--they're after the younger, teen demographic and therefore the characters with history, often times the characters who made history on their respective soap, are either killed or written into a coma to make room for younger characters. Sure, they keep a few of the old folks around and let them out of the dungeon once in a while, but that's only once or twice a month and they rarely get to do anything other than spout crap about how great Chosen Star/Character of the Moment is.

I agree the other ABC soaps are bad as well. Just seems the minute Disney bought ABC (which I feel is the root of all the problems with Soaps on ABC) OL was the first to get the hit with them hiring Jill Phelps and the dismantiling of bo/nora (huge power-couple) in the most batshit insane recycled SL..nora sleeps with another guy and gets PG but tell's bo it's his and long story short about a 3 year ordeal of DNA fucking with and who's the daddy SL..only to have it be the other guy's then a few years after he's finally shot and killed, minor rewrite and the baby really is bo's..But anyway, just seems that OL was on the first front to get vets kicked to the curb..long-time popular actors in roles treated like dirt and in my fav instance, took one up and coming popular couple, kevin/cassie, re-casted the hugely popular kevin to make room for Phelp's "darker version" and then having the actress who played cassie go on maternity leave only to be fired. But yeah I feel for everyone who is a fan of a ABC soap.

That Kevin was my favorite.

And yeah Phelps/McTavish have systematically destroyed every ABC soap. And I blame Frons for the old people suck!!!11 casting. I think hes currently trying to force David Canary out.

Also is it bad if I though Amanda/JR was hot today on AMC? I just want Babe gone.
