Somebody in the ad world seems to think I am fluent in Spanish and would want to watch a Spanish-language TV show starring the rather non-Spanish-sounding Alex Chambers.

On the Britney thread, I noticed all three ads were for pyschologists and/or counselors.

We're getting ads for Meet the Spartans.

I feel like a mafia princess who found out her birthday pony was bought on coke money.

Just sayin' - my feelings on this haven't changed in the 49 days since my original post.

Well, this ad made me double-take: "What does your soul look like?" It's something to do with Kabbalah, but it makes me think of Evil Dead II. So now I'm picturing Madonna saying "I'll swallow your soul! I'll swallow your soul!"

The Psychotic Fans thread had an ad for Benazir Bhutto ringtones.

Mine have suddenly become infuriatingly noisy. That, and the site has decided that I really needed to join a Muslim dating agency - maybe it's been reading the discussion on this thread and has come to realise the truth that atheists are in fact a type of Muslim? That's the kind of thinking I could do without from a messageboard, even Snarkfest.

If you have Firefox, you can download Adblock. It puts a link in the bottom left of the browser that shows you all the addresses available to block. If you delete everything after the server name and put an asterisk, it blocks everything from that address. I rarely see ads anymore, it's great!

Thanks for the tip, inversed. That iPod Nano giveaway ad with the audio every single time was beginning to drive me crazy, and I have Adblock!

So I'm not the only with AdBlocker who's suddenly getting the ads? Good to know. (I've been manually blocking them as they come, and the talking OMG SHUT UP I ALREADY HAVE AN IPOD AND I'M LISTENING TO IT RIGHT NOW, NOT YOU SO SHUT UP SHUT UP ones haven't come back, thankfully, but I'm still getting ads.)

Thank you SO much. There was a weird chiming sound coming from one of the ads and I couldn't figure out what it was, and it was driving me crazy!

That sound was from one of the ads? Thank God, I thought something was up with my computer.

The sounds were driving me nuts! I blocked them. Does Forumer lose ad revenue when people do that?
