It is an incredible amount of fun and you can certainly just mingle and walk around without spending a dime. I have a lot of photos of celebs from a distance. A tip though -- if you eat at Juniors, you can get seated right behind where the celebrity table is set up (they put it on the veranda of the restaurant). Last year, I ate dinner about 20 feet away from all three of the Redgraves, Bernadette Peters, Brian Stokes Mitchell, and Donna Murphy were all signing autographs.
And Adam Pascal smiled at me.
I am having a discussion elsewhere about whether a Les Mis movie would be a good idea, and could they pull it off, and am wondering what people here think about it. I'd like to see a movie, but I really don't think they could pull it off, unless they deeply gutted about half the songs. Stuff like "Lovely Ladies" would be crap on-screen, and I have to say I think "One Day More" can't be pulled off either (I got some flack for that one.) What do you guys think?
Hee. I love how Cheno uses her corny voice and persona for the powers of awesome.
That was awesome. I adore Cheno.
And it was educational: is "Tina" really slang for meth?
'Tis, especially in the MSM club world.
I liked it when LMM came by yelling "scraping BY!" Oh man. He seriously needs to stop being so awesome.
For real.
Also call me Matthew Morrison. You are fine.
and "All of you are on Broadway. And at the end of this...one of you....willl keep being on Broadway." made me laugh way too much. Damn your Tyra impression! As did "And the reality of Broadway will just keep getting realer". And "I am the Pirauga guy. <Sob> Okay."
Hey I used to kinda know one of the guys in this video. We used to hang out at the same bar.
Alison Janney! That was hilarious.
That is frickin' hysterical! The cameos are fabulous: Bernie Telsey, Cheyenne Jackson, Alison Janney, Hunter Bell!
Playbill.com put together some pictures of the Rent
casts throughout the years. I had no idea Cary Shields was so hot. (That's not the guy who killed himself, right?)
No thats the one that had a crazed meltdown. But hes still alive. The original young Simba in the Lion King killed himself a few years back.
I always forget who was in the cast. It really did have a lot of people who are succesful now.
Ah, thanks. I knew
something happened with him.
ETA:
This interview with Jonathan Larson's dad is also good.
