(Aside from one of the Jersey Boys fucking up his choreography.)

Heeeeeee, we laughed and laughed and laughed at that.

My dad and I also felt really old, because neither of us knew a damn thing about Spring Awakening. I've at least heard of Duncan Shiek, but he was totally clueless. We both ended up wishing for more Company noms.

Also. Does Audra McDonald age ever? So pretty. Almost as pretty as Idina and Taye, who always looks amazing. Woof.

Kiran- 06-11-2007
I love Spring Awakening but even I was WTF with the choreography win. I was rooting for Mary Poppins for that one. Dancing on the ceiling, y'all.

Hee that was awesome. I also loved Raul Esparza looking completely stone faced when Niles won. And his wife was with him. Even after that NY times article?...Well, good luck to them whatevers going on there. I cant blame him for being surprised though. He was supposed to be one of the locks, and gave an amazing performance. I mean hell, he should have got it just for his performance of "Being Alive" on the awards.

And Damn, I saw pics and Naomi Watts looks about ready to pop.

ulkis - Your spoiler is what happens still in the show, and while I wouldn't use the term 'lovey-dovey' to describe Melchior and Wendla, they're definitely the central 'love story' of the show

I figured she still did, you know, at the end, but does he know about her pregnancy before she dies? I actually don't blame the producers for that description though, whoever designed the website was probably responsible for that.

Shallow: that guy playing Burt was kinda cute.

I love Audra. I'm just in awe of her voice. I had no idea she could move like that either.

<< He finds out, by getting a letter from her, but by the time he comes back shes already dead because of a botched abortion >>

Gavin Lee is indeed cute. Also all during the show, I was wondering if Billy Crudup and Claire Danes ran into each other backstage.

maxell1313- 06-11-2007
Well, I must be the odd person out, then, because I was totally rooting for David Hyde Pierce to win and was wildly cheering when he actually won. Sorry, but Raul Esparza sounds like he yodels. I was also thrilled for Christine Ebersole, Mary Louise Wilson, Julie White, and Frank Langella (I especially liked his acceptance speech.).

I really want to go see Grey Gardens, The Little Dog Laughed, and The Coast of Utopia, now.

TiffanyNichelle- 06-11-2007
Did I hear it wrong when they said that the Coast of Utopia was 9 hours long? Because honestly that did not sound right, heh.

psammead- 06-11-2007
OT but I saw Coast of Utopia in London and it was one of the best days I have ever had at the theatre (it really is a full day). Absolutely extraordinary that 9 hours of nineteenth century Russian politics could be so gripping. And yes, it's 3 separate plays in quite different styles.

Cat Destroys Lloyd Webber's Phantom Sequel Score

A sign, perhaps?

katesti- 06-14-2007
That is the best thing I have read ever.

queenofdenile- 06-14-2007
The fact that it was a cat that destroyed the music makes it the funniest thing I've heard all week. I feel bad for anyone who has his life work ruined, but seriously, you can't make that up.

Cat Destroys Lloyd Webber's Phantom Sequel Score

God works in mysterious ways.

psammead- 06-15-2007
That's the funniest thing I've heard for months (though I do find the Lord very entertaining when he's judging camp reality tv shows).

This is going to bring a lot of crazy out of the woodwork - Michael Ball to play Edna Turnblad in Hairspray

Esseilte- 06-15-2007
Aaand my two-decades-old crush on him has finally died.

It survived The Woman in White, it could not survive Edna.

ulkis- 06-15-2007
When they're not singing, I can't tell the difference between Michael Crawford and Michael Ball. Crawford is a lot older and yet, they still look the same to me.

Some funny ALW-cat macros at the bottom of this page page and top of this page.
