And given that the guys all had like eleventy-billion siblings, I'm willing to believe that most residents of Boston are related or know somehow the guys. |
This may well be true. One of my college friends was in their touring band back in the day, so that's how I knew them. Friend also has eleventy billion siblings and cousins (two of whom were also in the touring band), so it grew exponentially from there.
Having a friend with a tour per diem is excellent when you are a poor college student.

Dinahmoe got any juicy stories? I'm just curious.
Ka-*test*-('")i, what they're watching is the infamous Two Girls, One Cup. No, I'm not linking to that video. It's not for the faint of heart. Danny's laugh cracks me up in the end as well as Joe's laugh, which sounds like Spongebob Squarepants.

Not really. They were just typical chowdaheads in their late teens and twenties. Farting was a theme.

I was about to say "...Are they...They're not watching Two Girls, One Cup, are they? Oh God, they ARE! EWWWWWW."
I adore Danny's laugh at the end, it makes me giggle.

Hee, that's what I assumed. I love that they all box Jon in, knowing full well that he'd be heading for the hills if given the chance.
cutebutpsycho- 06-16-2008
That's what I love too. It's like after 15 years since they performed together, they still are like brothers to each other. I find that adorable. The faces Jordan's making while they're watching the video also cracks me up.
And even though Jordan was kinda weird on Surreal Life, I'm starting to cut him some slack after hearing that he had some of the same anxiety issues that Jon has. From personal experience, I've got relatives who have some odd social issues and say weird things because they're not sure what to say sometimes.
But I still think it was a stupid thing to talk about the Olsen twins like that in front of Uncle Joey.
cutebutpsycho- 06-22-2008
Sorry for the double posting, but it's been awhile, so I thought it would be alright. Not to mention, it's a different topic:
HOLY SHIT! The official forum got shut down! The craziness got to be too much I guess.
Kookla- 06-22-2008
I was in Toronto and I actually saw them do their sound check for the MMVA's. YOu never really know if you're going to see anyone actually famous at those things, so I got a real kick out of all the people getting on their cellphones and saying "You'll never guess what I'm doing right now." Hee.
Then the next day I was standing on the sidewalk and Joey McIntyre ran by me (probably just going for an afternoon jog before the show that night). It was my first real celebrity sighting! :)

I just heard their new single, "Single" on their
Myspace page and I'll confess. I'm not a huge fan. I don't care for slow jams, or slow jams about night clubs.
For a second, I thought it was an Usher song.
That being said, Donnie's voice makes me a giddly 15-year-old again. The adult in me is going to tear apart the lyrics, but the inner preteen is screaming too loud for the adult to be heard.
CookieMonster- 08-25-2008
How did I just now see this thread?? My inner-teenie has surfaced and the tour cannot get here fast enough!
cutebutpsycho- 08-25-2008
Oh, my inner 15-year-old has leaped out and taken over this summer. I've been listening to previews of the new CD for awhile now. And I've infected my friends (who I didn't think were NKOTB fans, but are and we're all going to the concert together. Whee!). At a party last night me, the birthday girl and two of our friends were giggling over the old videos.
Anyways, from what I've heard of the new CD, it's going to be pretty cool if you like upbeat dance music with a rather strong theme of sex. Normally I'm not a fan of that, but well, yeah, puberty's a hell of a drug. I'd say its more n'Sync than Backstreet, which is a good thing. If it was nothing but ballads, I'd be pissed off.

Just in case anyone hasn't seen these yet:
Clips from The BlockSlightly different clips from The BlockPerforming "Single" at the Mall of America (Joe sings Ne-Yo's parts. Sorry, Ne-Yo, don't miss you at all.)
I think the clips sound great. It's contemporary, and since they're not the grea-*test*-('") singers, I'm glad most of the songs are danceable. I didn't really care for "Single" the first time I heard it, but it grew on me. (And I love the choreography!)

Isn't that the truth?! LOL Joe needs to be the one singing those parts. I've got my fingers crossed that Ne-Yo does not make an appearance at any of my shows!
cutebutpsycho- 08-26-2008
On the heels of the clips that
mozzarella posted is the release of
Grown Man and Put it On My Tab.I had a pain in the ass time trying to hear the songs on that link, so you might want to try this
Grown Man and
Put it on my Tab.
Personally, I'm digging Grown Man for the bluesy vibe, even though I'm not the biggest fan of the Pussycat Dolls.
CookieMonster- 08-26-2008
I don't really like either PCD or Akon... but both songs are kinda catchy, moreso with "Tab". I can't say I took an immediate liking to either one but I think both songs will probably grow on me. I'm just happy to have them back together! LOL
