It took me forever to find this place, but I'm so glad I did! I'm sad the original Snarkfest is gone, but at least we have a new board. Thanks to the admins for your hard work!

How did you find your way? We've been trying to find new ways to get the word out to our missing Snarkers.

Yes, 10 e-mails per 24 hours. And it really means the 24 hours thing. 24 hours and a few seconds after you've sent the first mail, you can send the 11th, 24 hours and a few seconds after you've sent the second mail, you can send the 12th, and so on. Very annoying, but it can't be helped.

That's incredibly lame. Argh.

I Googled Snarkfest to see if there was any discussion anywhere about what had happened to the board and found the LJ community -- I didn't even know it existed until it came up on Google. Followed the link on Livejournal to the new board and here I am.

I just noticed something. I think this is the first of all related boards where the "Celebrities" forum didn't have the most posts.

Cinders- 12-07-2006
I had no idea what had happened to the former Snarkfest - I spent most of my time in the Literary Section (which is not to sound like some sort of snob - my most viewed topics were "Absurb and Humourous Websites", "YouTube" and "For Better or For Worse.")

I found this site by clicking on a mods name at the old site, finding their live journal and then coming on here. Thank you so much for quickily building us a new home.

I am, of course, devastated to be back on the d-list since it took me many months and an addiction to Quizilla to elevate me to the B-list. Nevertheless, I'll claw my way back up somehow.

I asked over at BitterButBrilliant.

I posted in the dormant 'fametrackers' LiveJournal community to find out what was up. I only logged onto Snarkfest a few times a week, and posted less frequently than that. I discovered it was gone right before I was set to go out of town for business, so I didn't have time to track you guys down before now.

It occurred to me that for those of us who still have an account on Old SF, you can update your profile to have the sigfile point to the new SF.

It only helps if you go there a few times to keep yourself in the recent members list, and then people actually think to click on you, but it's better than nothing.

Or can you only click on profiles if you're a registered member?

Libelle- 12-08-2006
No, you can click on the profiles even if you're not logged in. I just logged out and -*test*-('")ed it.

NySoul- 12-08-2006
Yes, some of the members changed their profiles to point people to here. Also, vwlphb registered new usernames such as AAAsnarkphoenix.forumer.com to point people here. Hopefully, some of them would click on the 'members' button.

I just got an email from Kalliopeia today about the new board. Thanks! I didn't post much on the old one and probably won't post much here, but it's nice to have a place to kill the time. Time I don't actually have, since I'm supposed to be working.

Yet another lurker de-lurking to thank the mods for getting these boards up and running. I got an email from lil d about the new forum, so also a big thanks for organizing the email drive, I don't think I would have found my way back otherwise! For some reason, googling Snarkfest just never popped into my mind...Anyway, my celeb gossip crack is back!

Kalliopeia- 12-08-2006
It makes me happy that all that emailing is bringing some folks back. woo!

Pumpkin Cake- 12-08-2006
I'm really happy that so many lurkers and new folk are posting, too! And everyone's great so far. (Not like I expect that to change, or anything.)
