I could totally see that. Buttons and stickers particularly, because they're cheap enough to collect on a monthly basis, although we can do anything else anyone wants. I guess we'd sell them at-cost on CafePress with no profit, because who would the profit go to? We don't pay for this board, after all.
Since I've done similar stuff for a shop of my own, I can probably start putting some designs together. And if we do it as non-profit, that opens up the number of fonts we can legally use as well. Maybe we should start a separate thread for suggestions, because I like the metaquote suggestion. It doesn't have to be officially metaquoted material (although I'd like to ask each originator's permission to use any quote)--just anything that's kind of a SF injoke, like hoors.
And refrigerator magnets! Because you can never have too much stuff stuck to the fridge!

doing it correctlyI'm coming out of lurking - pre-crash I was shai-hulud, and I don't think I ever really posted - to say the boards look great! I thought I was being gaslighted and you didn't exist anymore. I was wondering if there had been a meltdown of FT proportions. Thank God for Google, because I didn't know about the LJ backup plan. I intend to post a little more now. It was like those bad dreams I used to have of my family moving and not telling me where they were going.
Dammit, I was planning on reading up on the HarryPotter/Charlotte Lennox/Msscribe saga in the archived threads while on Christmas break from grad school, but I won't be able to do that now.

I found my way back thru the displaced snark yahoo forum. It finally dawned on me a few days later to check there.

I'll help send out PMs. We can send out more than one PM every 15 minutes, right? And the PM center sends an email notification that the person has a PM. I know that part still works because punky and I were PMing back and forth before everything was settled here.
I did save the member list, screened for the 76 actives. I did recognize quite a bit of the names as having posted here already. Maybe you could crosscheck against your registrations, at least for the people who kept the same name. Let me know if you'd like me to send it to you...
