There are some new things that I love about this board. For one, the colors seem somehow sharper and clearer, although that might just be New Board Smell. But I also love the new logo (I never liked the old one, truth be told) and the way you can see more topics per page when you hit "View New Posts". I don't know if it's something the mods would want to make public, but I'd definitely be interested in reading a rundown of what differences the new board has and how they were chosen.

To be honest, not that much is different. We went through a number of the forumer provided skins for the forum, and we liked this one best. (We did briefly consider a nice green scheme, but in the end decided that blue was more work friendly.) Posters who were around for Snarkfest v1.0 will probably recognize it as the same.

Things are more blue than the old board. On the other board, there was a gray/purplish background to the forum lists and on the date lines and such (you can see a cached version here). Some other things that are different are the arrows showing new posts in each forum section (i.e. Television or Lit & Multimedia), the font size being slightly bigger, 25 posts per page in a thread and 25 threads per page in each forum view. There are some other little differences, but mostly it was a matter of keeping what we liked from the skin and taking out what we didn't. Sorry that it isn't deeper than that :P

Cleolinda made the new logo, though spidey_88 made a very good one that we nearly used, except that it was green to match our first look.

One thing I've noticed - not sure if it's deliberate or not - is that the Community threads are available when you're not logged in. Is there a reason for this? I quite liked them not being available to casual visitors but I guess it doesn't really matter.

And yay for the new logo - I didn't much like the old one either (though I'm sure spidey's was cool too - maybe we could change it every so often?)

Yeah, if we could restrict the Community threads to members only, that would be fab. Then I won't feel paranoid about bitching in the I Hate My Job thread.

Yeah, vwlphb is still ironing out things (and has put in so much work already!), so tell us if there's anything like that you notice. People were still finding capitalization issues with thread titles, lack of bold font on links, etc.--we just need to know about them in order to fix them.

The font size in the "View New Posts" area seems really big to me. (Like 13 point, maybe.) Is anyone else noticing this?

Hee. I found out that the board was down right after I watched House and went to the TV Forums to see if anyone had posted about it. Maybe Tritter is really the one to blame for all this.
