mrinsouciance- 04-11-2007
It's gratifying to know I can deliver both the set-up and the punchline, on occasion.

Shalamar- 04-11-2007
The Lady of Shalott, in the Blowing Off Steam thread. Subject: the dipwad who accused her of "writing too loud":

QUOTE
I'm not writing in blood, so he's not distracted by my constant puncturing of myself with a needle and the consequent "Aiee!"

The Lady of Shalott- 04-11-2007
Thank you, Shalamar! Getting quoted makes my day.

And seriously, WTF was UP with that guy? I don't even think he lives on my floor.

tothemax- 04-12-2007
Obviously, he heard you loud writing from several floors away.

dinahmoe- 04-12-2007
Were you writing with the pen Bill Cosby used for "Picture Pages?" Because that dude was noisy!

Libelle- 04-15-2007
Putli Bai, in the Pirates of the Caribbean Thread, about part three of the series:

QUOTE
This movie isn't even out yet, and already I love it so much I want to take it out behind the middle school and get it pregnant.

QueenSix- 04-15-2007
I second that metaquoting! Heh heh.

TiffanyNichelle- 04-19-2007
This was just begging to be metaquoted. In the Things TV Stations Do That Annoy You thread, tothemax
wanted to know what the edited for television version of Die Hard's "yippie-kai-yay mother fucker" was.

QUOTE
mrinsouciance "yippe-kai-yay" [Tico Torres].

dinahmoe That's bullshit. Tico Torres has never even met my mother.

Oh Tico Torres, do you even know what joy you've brought this board? LOL

Putli Bai- 04-19-2007
Thank you both, but I have to confess -- it's easy to be funny when you're stealing material from 30 Rock.

MtOlivePickles asks that a spade be called a spade in TWoP thread.

QUOTE (BrightEyes @ April 19, 2007 11:21 pm)
Do I...do I want to ask what cumgutters are, or should I be ashamed that I don't know?

QUOTE
...what. Can't they just call them fuck muscles like everyone else?

Gwynevere1- 04-20-2007
radguurl ponders Keira Knightley's personal life:
QUOTE
Who knows, maybe she'll wait until the PoTC3 premiere and strike then, drugging and hypnotizing them both, and then swap them out like an old purse. Then she'll have Real!Orlando and Faux!Orlando will take the place of Real!Orlando and the world will never know the difference

Putli Bai- 04-20-2007
Over in the Star Trek Film Series thread, there is a very serious discussion of the future of the franchise. There is also this:

Dane begins:
QUOTE
So why should I -- someone who's spent a metric assload of money on Star Trek over many years -- think that a "reboot" is something I want to see?

To which lifeguard replies:
QUOTE
Just out of curiosity, what's the conversion rate between metric and U.S. assloads?

Fortunately, RiverThames is on the job with an answer:
QUOTE
A metric assload is equal to .62 U.S. assloads. (And, remember, in US measurements, 16 shitloads=4 assloads=1 fuckwad=1/5 bigassfuckingload)

A little farther down, there's also an important discussion about what sort of ritual suicide tothemax needs to commit to atone for mispelling

dinahmoe weighs in on a commonly misheard lyric in The Beatles' "I Wanna Hold Your Hand":
QUOTE
The story I heard was that when Dylan first heard the song, he thought they said "I get high" and he thought, "hey, these guys are cool!" When he met them and found out that they were really saying "I can't hide", he was all "WTF? Here, have some pot." And the Beatles were all "hey, this pot stuff is really excellent, Bob Dylan! Thanks! Now we can be all quirky and mystical!"

That was good stuff. I've had the phrase "this pot stuff is really excellent, Bob Dylan!" stuck in my head since then. In an English accent, obv.

jstilwe on the next Harry Potter movie:
QUOTE
If it were nothing but two hours of the Weasley twins terrorizing Umbridge I would love it, but it looks like they put some other stuff in too, so that's just icing on the cake!
