Seriously. When Martha Stewart does a better Marilyn than you, give it up.

She's not the only one, though. Remember when Whispers With Ghosts decided she was Audrey Hepburn? That still burns. ETA: Lindsey knows a lot less about posing than Marilyn or Rita, too. Those pictures are good T&A, but not evocative on the level of MM or Rita's Life mag shoot. Or even some of Brits pre-crazy layouts.

Lindsey tried to do Hepburn too. She had a Holly Golightly ensemble for on scene in CONFESSIONS OF A TEENAGE DRAMA QUEEN. Remember that one? The one before MEAN GIRLS? That was the first real sign to me that this chick was pointed in the wrong direction. Naive child that I was in the winter of 2004, I thought it meant only that Lohan's career might be over before she was old enough to drink... not that her life would become an ongoing freak show of denial and exhibitionism.

Rumor on the street (and by "street" I mean Internet gossip sites), Lindsay was supposedly tricked by NY Mag. Apparently, she thought they would only print the tamer photos, and Bert Stern would only use the nudes in a gallery or book. Like all Internet gossip site claims, choose how big a grain of salt you want to take that info with.

This girl is always recanting something. Does she not understand the concept of tape? And contract?

What I've read, it's not her saying it or recanting. It's people saying they heard from someone who was on the set that that's what Bert Stern told her. So, you know, grain. Salt. Big.

I don't get it. She did the nude photo shoot. Book, magazine -- what difference would it make when they are the exact same photos and everything ends up on the internet anyway?

I debated saying this for like, DAYS because I didn't want to come off as a Lindsay-hater (which I'm not; I'm really more or less indifferent at this point) but I also think she looks wrecked in those photos. I think it's not just her--I want to blame this Bert Stern: those were the best pictures he had? The b/w one looks like it's straight out of Maxim, and the one where she's got the netting over her head has her looking like something out of Mme. Tussad's.

None of this, of course, was mitigated by how weathered Linds looks in the face (what is with that brown strip above her mouth?) and how different (imo) her sex appeal is from what Monroe's was. Monroe was absolutely the definition of fresh, dewy, joyful--Linds was at one time alarmingly pretty, but in a way more reminiscent of Bo Derek or Brigitte Bardot: playful, sly, brash.

And I totally don't hate for the mere fact of doing this shoot: I think they were awesome pictures and , heck, I'd want to do it if I had the chance. I don't really know that it was a great idea to do them now, given that the public doesn't really have a good idea of who Lindsay is, other than a party girl. It's not like Jodie Foster aping Tippi Hedren in "The Birds" for that VF shoot, where the mimic is a big part of the gimmick. (Sorry for the rhyme.)

She looks like a busted Scarlett Johanson in those pics. Hey, that's who they should have got to do this shoot! ScarJo would have been much better.

I agree. ScarJo would've been better. She's sexy; I'm sorry but LiLo is not. Not even when she was in her 'Mean Girls' days..

She has a job! And it sounds legit!

But Dina really, really needs to STFU. Lindsay's new CD will have a "hip-hop vibe"? Can't wait for that.

Because Monroe's memory has all but vanished. I know I'd never heard of her before.

I'd be happy about the news about the Jack Black movie if it didn't come from Dina Lohan. For now, I'm skeptical until I hear about it from a more reliable new source.

(Who, by they way, is scaring me. When you look terrifyingly skinny while totally stalking standing next to Lindsay Lohan, you may have a problem of some kind.)
