I think, however, it can be made into a good long-term PR move. For one, it kills any momentum, say, ex-boyfriends with "revealing" photos may have. She has her first true topless photos released be on her terms. Similarly, it will probably reduce the papparazzi pressure on her. They won't swarm her as much because the value of, say, accidental nipple pictures just dropped. Another thing is, having done these, if she does a movie with nudity, the news story can be about the movie and the role, not Lindsay Does Nude Scene.

As far as her working or not working, she did have three movies come out in 2007. Granted, two of them were dogs, and the third only got limited art-house release, but she is working. And she's currently filming something else. It may not be amazing work, but it's not like it's been nothing but parties and rehab for three years or something.

She looks so much older than her 21 years. It also seems like a desperate ploy for attention. I'm no Lohan expert but she has no film projects lined up, right? This just reeks of "Hire me! I'm desperate!"

Yes, she looks older than she is, but I think a lot of that has to do with the makeup and the wig and the fact that she's playing a part. That being said I agree with you. I think the pictures themselves are okay, but the article is creepy as hell.

I think she can pretend to be Marilyn all she wants as long as she's not doing drugs or recklessly partying anymore. Marilyn was known for a lot more than dying suddenly. She was an iconic sex kitten and Lindsay has always said that is what she wants to be.

If this was all a sad stab at attention, it was efficient in any case.

I thought she was supposed to be shooting for Ann Margaret, not Monroe. But really, she isn't even the only actress this month to be doing a lame wannabe Marilyn Monroe spread. Nicole Kidman also has one out. (And come to think of it, her film career isn't that great right now either)

Lindsay has done an Ann-Margaret shoot, a Marilyn Monroe shoot, and an Elizabeth Taylor shoot. I wish she would stop with the shameless comparisons and just be herself.

I guess if she has been rode hard put away wet and did enough drugs and alcohol for a woman three times her age because she looks leathery and old as fuck.

I mean Marilyn did years of drugs, emotional and physical abuse, and was shortly to kill herself and she looks more the dewy ingenue than Lindsay and photoshop has fuck all to do with it. I mean her tits rock and her body is lovely but god lord with that face the way it is this isn't going to end well.

I will quietly point out that one does not become a sex symbol by overtly imitating other sex symbols. Regardless of any sad, tragic, or unseemly details in their lives, Monroe, Taylor, even Ann-Margaret are all remembered for being one of a kind. Their uniqueness became a part of their sensuality. (Say what you will about Sharon Stone, at least her sex symbol moment is *hers* and no one else's.) Lohan isn't even unique as a train wreck anymore. She needs to start being herself and stop trying to tell the world who she wants us to think she is. Unfortunately, she can't do that if she herself doesn't know who she is... and I really don't think she does.

I think it's odd that Lohan keeps trying to call to mind sex symbols of the past, when her type is very much of the present. In her best roles, she's kind of sporty, tomboyish and a bit of a rock chick. That kind of old-fashioned sex symbol doesn't suit her.

Especially when the careers of those sex-symbols sort of make her film roles look pathetic by comparison. There's nothing wrong with being in a Herbie remake but it's not exactly Gentleman Prefer Blondes in terms of impact, is it? Maybe she might wait a few years and see if she's got something that could actually compare to some of their films and then say 'hey! look at me! I'm Marilyn Monroeseque!'

I don't really care if she takes it all off but mimicking another photo layout hardly seems like a worthwhile use of creative time to me. Why not do something new? What's gained by having endless shots of Lindsey Lohan trying to look like Marilyn Monroe beyond it giving her a respectable way to show her breasts?

Her face looks haggard in those pics, and the wig doesn't help. LiLo should never, EVER be blonde.
