My favorite quote from her Elle interview -

QUOTE
I just want to be nominated for an award for all the work I’ve done. It’s so funny – people forget that I played two characters in Parent Trap when I was twelve years old.

And by "favorite", I mean - shut UP you unbelievably full of yourself little girl. Obviously, everyone wants to be recognized for the work that they do, but are people really supposed to be walking around thinking about the thespian genius that was The Parent Trap?

And definitely add me to the group of people who's sick of hearing about how talented she is, and how it's a great tragedy that she's wasting that talent. She's about as talented, if not less so, than the other actresses in her age range who work consistently. Hell, Mandy Freaking Moore has more talent in her little finger than Lohan. She's no prodigy, she's a decent actress. Her parents didn't beat her up and lock her in a basement, they were crappy parents. Time to suck it up now.

Amen, sneezydove.

Seriously. Lots of people had less than stellar parents and yet they managed to not get arrested for DUIs and drugs and hold down steady, normal jobs. Blaming your parents for your problems only works for so long and then people get tired of it. Really tired.

Except for the fact that she's never actually blamed her parents for anything. She's got two addicts for parents, and she's an addict herself. People pointing out that she was dealt a shitty genetic hand and is too screwed up and drug-addled to realize it are not the same as her actually saying she blames her upbringing for her issues.

Her blaming her parents would actually be a step in the right direction, as far as I'm concerned.

From Entertainment Weekly:

I Know Who Killed Your Career.

I don't think she blames her mother for her problems which is probably who she should blame more than her father. At least her father isn't out partying with her. But she does seem to have more of a hate on for him from what I've seen. The songs, the constantly talking about him. I realize that's probably just the media slant it's been given but when I see her on television she always seems to be saying, "My father was blah blah blah.." and while that may be true, and it sucks, it's a problem a lot of people have and deal with in ways that don't involve stealing cars and cocaine.

I guess what I'm saying is, I think she's got daddy issues.

From that EW article, one producer talks about Lindsay Lohan:

QUOTE
'It's always challenging for a young actor to mature into an adult star. It takes great planning, sophistication, and judgment. She hasn't shown any of those things.''

It gets even better:
QUOTE
''Her career was over long before she had these troubles,'' says the studio head. ''The media treat her like she's Will Smith or Tom Cruise, like she's some big star, but she simply isn't.''

Ooooooh, BURN!

Lily Rose- 08-06-2007
Back in rehab.

Scarlettfish- 08-06-2007
I'm losing track of her, she's in and out of rehab too frequently these days.

jenelope- 08-06-2007
Or maybe she's in Long Island.. Who really knows these days?

jolie laide- 08-06-2007
I just read the Elle article. What a fantastic asshole she is -- seriously, it's kind of magical.

Oh, and the "not my pants" excuse is apparently all-purpose: Photoshop is to blame if she looks bloated in photos, or gets caught going commando. It's...not not her underwear, I guess.

Some dirt from a former bodyguard.

QUOTE
Once, when Lindsay was 16, Michael flew into a rage while driving and "slammed on the brakes and dragged her out of the car, pushed her up against the hood, screamed at her and called her a slut. This was on the Long Island Expressway! I got in the middle of it and pulled him off."

QUOTE
As Lindsay's manager, Dina - who was desperate to become a star herself - received 10 percent of her income. "Lindsay was the family cash cow - and she resented it," Almeida claims. "They counted on her to pay their bills . . . I saw Lindsay exhausted, begging her mother for some time off."

QUOTE
Young Lindsay's parents looked the other way as she began a life of boozing, boys and drugs. When she was 15, they allowed her to share a room with her then-14-year-old boyfriend, Aaron Carter, at Loews in Miami Beach. Almeida relates, "They knew Lindsay was sleeping in Aaron's room. But they seemed happy she had chosen somebody who could benefit her singing career."

QUOTE
The ex-bodyguard also claims Lindsay cried out for help for years by cutting herself and threatening suicide. Lindsay's reps did not reply to our e-mails.

callie- 08-10-2007
If she was a cutter, there's a lot more going on than just a drinking problem. All those things are really kind of sad.

mrinsouciance- 08-10-2007
As much as I dislike her, the truth is she's still crying out for help. No wonder she's so screwed up, if this stuff is true.

nikita- 08-10-2007
I have absolutely no problem believing all of that. If there's one thing we all know for certain, it's that her parents are fucked up.
