The End Times are obviously upon us. Their arrival was presaged by The Potterdammerung, and the next step is obviously to hear an articulate and well-reasoned discussion on the toxicity of modern culture of the Hollywood starlet by Tara Reid.

Despite my hatred of anything he does aside from SNL and Adam Sandler flicks, I think Rob Schneiders a class act. That letter to Ebert, and those pics of him toting Sadie Sandler's diaper bag, hinted at it, this kinda confirmed it.

Also Dina? Hi, your daughter is KILLING herself, while endangering many others. Maybe you should be sick about that and not Rob Schneider and Jay FUCKING Leno poking fun at her.

Every celebrity and their uncle is being asked about Lindsay and what she should do and what will become of her etc. Is Dina going to make a public reply to every one of them? And remind us in every statement to Access Hollywood that she's a "single mother of four children"? Just shut up Dina.

I have to say the carjacking is my favorite part of this story. Bitch needs to be in lockdown in a big way, not this la dee dah Promises shit where you go to the gym and have a latte at will with your mostly decorative ankle monitor, but Federal pound you in the ass prison...only rehab version, because damn it all to hell she's actually got talent!

I'll say yes to the prison--or some semblance of doing some sort of punishment for all the assholish things she's doing--but I'll argue the point about her having talent. If she had talent at this point she would be trying to get into better things. The Altman flick was a start, but she's only done Disney movies and a crappy horror flick. This is Sarah Gellar territory, not something for someone who, by all rights, should be getting Oscar nods and that sort of thing.

I'm sorry, but the talent? I'm not seeing it. Right now, the talent with Lohan is the con that some clever marketer pulled to make us think that this young person actually has a talent outside of downing shots.

That wasn't my implication, though I do think Lindsay's good even in all the crappy movies, my point is when compared to young Hollywood skanks (Paris, Nicole, Britters, The Duff) she does posess talent. And even with her limited CV she's already way way more successful than Smidge ever has been.

Talent doesn't necessarily mean choosing roles wisely, or preventing ego and entitlement from getting in the way of better things. Again, to me the first real sign of trouble was her cutting an album: a giant red warning flare celebrity was more important than craft in her little universe. That warning was borne out by subsequent films - Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, Just My Luck, Herbie Fully Loaded, etc. - which were "Lindsay Lohan vehicles," where the quality of the script didn't matter nearly as much as making sure she was front and center. Yes, she made Bobby and PHC, but those both 1) came fairly late in the game, after her tabloid lifestyle had gotten out of hand and these shitty star vehicles had tarnished her reputation; and 2) are essentially big Hollywood movies dressed up in art house clothes. They were all poor career decisions, based on bad advice where self-promotion trumped a willingness to learn about acting and broaden her palatte.

At this stage, it's hard to see her as anything but a train wreck, but what might have happened if she had chosen roles more wisely - with an eye on doing something interesting rather than something that put her in the spotlight? Sarah Polley did it; Anna Paquin did it; shit, even Kirsten Dunst found interesting things to do, and she's hardly a demurre little wallflower. All of them currently have what could generally be considered "careers," and I don't believe that a single one of them possesses more talent than Lohan.

And I have to say I think Sarah Michelle Gellar is talented. Seriously, I thought she was brilliant on Buffy. The problem with her was imo poor choices/mixed with the jump from tv to movies.

Lindsay?...She could have been something imo. Its more the untapped potential there thats sad to me then what she actually showed us.

I mean, at least she had a few bonafide hits proving that she could stand on her own two feet. Too bad her choices about movie roles really sucks.

She apparently swiped a bunch of LV merchandise from an Elle magazine shoot. I have a feeling this happens a lot on shoots, and I can't help hoping that OK's totally hilarious running total of everything Britney stole might be encouraging other mags to come clean. I know I'm setting myself up for disappointment, but dude, how awesome would it be if these interviewers started telling the truth about the trainwrecks they speak with?

Every time this thread jumps to the top of the page, I keep expecting to find a post about her death.
