A woman I worked with named her daughter Rio, I think because that's where they got married. But everytime I saw her all I could hear was Duran Duran.

Does she dance on the sand? Just like a something something through a dusty land?

Rio isn't a bad name, but it puts the song in my head, which for some obtuse reason I felt the need to demonstrate.

I'm thinking of a German singer, Rio Reiser. He was the lead singer of a famous punk band, so maybe the kid is actually named after him. Oh, and now I can't get Duran Duran out of my head, either.

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban had a baby girl yesterday and named her Sunday Rose Kidman Urban.

Yup.

Sunday Urban sounds like a shade of paint. Or a type of coffee drink Starbucks might serve.

I don't mind the name, but I think adding Rose is overkill.

Sunday Rose really bothers me but hey she's now prepared to follow in Daddy's footsteps as a country singer, heh. Sunday Urban sounds like some kind of whiskey. "Give me a shot of that Sunday Urban".

Yeah, I think they'd have been much better off going with Sunday Kidman if they were dead set on Sunday as a first name. The last name "Urban" needs a conventional first name.

See, Rose is the only good part of the name. If she was born today, why name her Sunday? This is what I don't understand.

I think if the bar hadn't been set so high by the Pilot Inspektors and Audio Sciences and Apples of the world, I'd have been much more displeased by Sunday. As it is, my first thought was "it could have been much worse." At least there is some prior history in the world of people naming their kids after days of the week (even if the only examples that will come to my mind right now are fictional), as opposed to inanimate objects.

Poor Sunday's name is like the Doctor Who season finale.

There's actress Tuesday Weld. I like Sunday better.

I didn't like Apple at first, but now I think it suits her, that she looks like an Apple. I mean, Sadie Sandler, total Daddy's girl, but not an Apple. So Sunday Rose might grow on me in time.
