| If my last name were Cake, and I had a baby, I would want to capitalize on the fruit trend and name the baby "lemon" or "strawberry". Lemon for a boy, strawberry for a girl cos it just seems more girly. |
I had a friend whose last name was Box, and he swore he was going to name his children "Hat" and "Shoe."
And, sadly, after Apple Martin, "Lemon" and "Strawberry" don't seem all that implausible as actual names.
Recap of the year in celebrity baby names.
I'd somehow missed the fact that the guy from Korn named his kids Zeppelin and Pirate. Another frustrating example of people confusing children's names with dog's names.
And how could we have missed King Justice Taylor? There is not, and never will be, any justification for the infliction of that name.
I'm curious what the second Phoenix/Affleck child (boy or girl?) is called. The first one was Indiana August (Boy). Anyone know?
Manhattan July?
Dakota February?
ETA: IMDB doesn't say, so I'm not sure.
I don't know, I reckon Ptolemy is pretty high on the 'Worst Name of 2007' list. I mean, Ptolemy? Seriously?

Hee!
I kinda like "Manhatten July". *hangs head*.
Chris Noth's girlfriend
gave birth to a baby boy. A boy they named
Orion. Orion Christopher Noth. Just rolls off the tongue, eh?
Hopefully they'll call him by his middle name instead of Orion.
I went to school with a kid named Orion.
Red-headed kid who looked like a leprechaun. But this was a hippie town so that name was pretty reasonable next to Butterfly, Snowhawk and Morningstar.
Maybe they can call him Rion, which sounds like Ryan, so he won't get beaten too much on the playground.

Genevieve, did we grow up together? I'm from a hippy town, and I knew an Orion and a Morningstar too! Actually, the Orion I knew had dark hair, so I guess not. No one ever gave him any crap about his name, so I never thought it was that weird.
Then again, I also knew kids named Phoenix, Fern, Mohawk, Cain, Sage, and Ivy (who were sisters). so my weird-name-o-meter is probably broken.
That would be spooky. Snowhawk had a brother named Sage.
I knew two sisters. They were named Rainy and Breezy.
I knew an Orion too, but he never got made fun of either. Actually, a lot of people told him that they thought it was a pretty cool name.
I think kids will make fun of other kids' names even if they're perfectly normal, like...Ted, or something. Or they will be surprisingly accepting of something weird. That's just how kids are.
