Odin is actually the name of Norse god. And I think it's kind of cool.

My kids would be Jojo or Jojo. I'm not sure which I prefer.

chibimanda- 12-07-2007
Hmmm....I like Jojo better, personally. It has a nice ring to it.

dinahmoe- 12-07-2007
I don't like Jojo for a boy's name, Jojo seems more masculine. But Jojo is a pretty name for a girl, but only if you pronounce it "Jojo".

My child would be named Deli, but I would never give him or her that as a name. I mean, Deli is fine as a nickname, but definitely not as an actual first name. Delicatessen is much more proper sounding.

Law and Order: Criminal Intent actress Julianne Nicholson, 36, and her husband, actor Jonathan Cake, 40, welcomed daughter Ignatius in early September.  The new mom was caught saying, "I'm on maternity leave right now, but I'll be back in January. We just had a baby three months ago. A friend thought up the name -- Ignatius -- and it just stuck."

1. Your daughter Ignatius?
2. Somewhere, your friend is shaking her head at you, and at herself, so very, very hard...

dinahmoe- 12-28-2007
A friend of my sister's called her baby Ignatz, just as a cute nickname while she was still in utero (before they knew the gender). Once born, the baby was officially named Elizabeth. She's 11 now and still goes by "Iggy". It's odd, but it suits her.

But, oh dear. Not as a real name.

Miss Moneypenny- 12-28-2007
Oh my goodness, my friend called her in utero baby Grimlock. Thank god that didn't stick.

Ignatius Cake is....quite a name. Especially for a girl. Iggy Cake is kind of cute, though, like a girl character on a Cartoon Network show.

Kiran- 12-28-2007
CBB is reporting that they were wrong and the baby is actually a boy.

I think with a last name like 'Cake' you've got to go big or go home. I actually like 'Ignatius Cake' better than, say, 'Dave Cake' or 'Riley Cake.'

spidey_88- 12-28-2007
I don't know. I think I would've named that kid "Takesthe." Sister and brother could be "Ice Cream" and "Beef."

sallamandersam- 12-28-2007
If my last name were Cake, and I had a baby, I would want to capitalize on the fruit trend and name the baby "lemon" or "strawberry". Lemon for a boy, strawberry for a girl cos it just seems more girly.

That makes it marginally, marginally more OK. Well, it's still terrible but not depths of hell terrible...oh, it's still terrible.

Poubelle- 12-29-2007
Iggy Cake sounds cool to me, but I was just in the Celebrity Good Quotes thread reading about Iggy Pop.

....they are calling him Iggy for short, right? Right?

(St. Ignatius is the namesake of the best Catholic high school in my city, so that's mymain association with the name. That and the Jesuits.)
