You white people get off easier.

Hee! Well us white people also wouldn't question Kaljit. He/She would never have to explain that mom got anagram-happy with grandma/grandpa's names.

My theoretical kid's name would be Anal. Or Alan, which is probably less traumatic.

The Glen- 12-04-2007
Hee hee, I get Math. My child will be left brain oriented.

Dachelle- 12-04-2007
Oh, fun! My kid's name will be Code. Pronounced "Cody," natch. Or I could do Deco. I've always liked the art movement.

Back to celebrity baby names, as the resident Peter Doherty fan on the board, I have to say I've always been interested in his son's name, Astile. From Googling, it seems to be the name of a type of flower, which is an interesting choice for a boy, and it shows up as a last name in a couple of places. Lisa Moorish, Astile's mom, named him, so maybe it's a family name for her. Or maybe she's an avid gardener. Or maybe she just made it up.

And not a celebrity, but I think the worst name I've ever heard is the name of a lady my mother once worked with. Her mother apparently wanted to name her "Roxanne," but her spelling was just a wee bit off. The woman's name? "Rocksand."

That is horrific. The poor woman.

My kid would be named Must. Or Stmu.

I work with someone named Rocky deButts.

Mine would be Frjo or Jofr. I must marry a Swede then? Or using my stepfather's name Chjo or Joch. I like Joch. lol

evilmaidel- 12-05-2007
Mine would be Mimi, a name that I absolutely can't stand despite the fact that it is tied to three things I love - Rent, Mariah Carey, and my mom. (Er, though not quite in that order.)

Jill Hennessy had a baby boy and gave him a cute Italian name: Gianni. She also has an older son named Marco.

Genevieve- 12-05-2007
I like those names. Gianni and Marco are such nice Italian names.
Okay so on the subject of wacky names... a girl, my husband went to school with had a baby recently. She named the boy Odin.
Yes.
Odin.
*raises an eyebrow*

And if my parents had been insane and named me after their two names I would have been either Thela or Lawthe.
I think the first one could have been a name.
the second sounds faintly welsh. heh. (I bet it would be pronounced Leke)

I rarely post, but my mashed up name would be "TEHE". I can get with that.

Also my son has a weird name, but I stand by the defense that I was 1 out of 10 Rae0618, same first and last name, in 6th grade. Plus he has a normal middle name that he can use if he likes. That and he will be able to google himself a lot better than I can with my very common name.

I have such an uncommon first name that when I google my full name, I'm the only person who comes up. It's pretty awesome, actually.

Teehee!

I don't like Gianni. He's gonna have a life time of hard G's. There's a perfectly valid American spelling. Name the kid John or Johnny.

My child's mashed-up name would be Waia or Prer, both of which are fairly bizarre.

My middle name is a combination of the first three letters of both of my grandmas' names: Jennie + Ines = Jenine.

dinahmoe- 12-05-2007
I would be Rojack, which sounds like an auto theft prevention system endorsed by Scooby Doo, or, with a little finagling, I could be Jack-a-Roe, which is a pretty cool English folk song about a girl who dresses up as a guy to join the navy and be reunited with her love.

Guess which one I'd pick.

Jill Hennessey's husband is Italian, though, and he has an Italian first-and-last name (I forget what). So it sounds normal.
