I think it's phoneticic - Mat-tee-us. Isn't his wife Norwegian or something? I like that they're going the traditional route, albeit still slightly unusual if they're being brought up (I assume) in the USA. But I like them, as long as any future Ferrells don't also have names beginning with M, 'cause that's sort of annoying.

I do, however, like Magnus and Mattias...and I seem to be the only one. My family is also Norwegian, so these names are pretty cool to me.

Nope, I like them, too. My heritage is partly Swedish, and these are pretty normal names to me.

Same here. I think they're lovely, unique names that you don't hear very often, which is nice.
