The name Scout doesn't really work for a grown-up, though. It's cute for a rambunctious kid, but can you imagine taking orders in the business world from a person named Scout? That would crack me up.

Rumer always sounded kind of stupid to me. I remember when they had their daughter and I thought, "Of all the beautiful girls' names in the world, they had to name her 'Rumer' ''?" Awkward little moniker. Like I posted before, I don't think Tallulah is much better, but at least there are other people with that particular name.

Now, on to Mel B.'s baby: Fortuna Murphy Brown? For real!? Man, she has terrible taste.

No, now it's Angel Iris Murphy Brown. Angel is marginally better than Fortuna, but makes me think of doughy vampires.

I like the name Scout for a kid, but I agree that it wouldn't transfer well to an adult.

Now, Rumer? I really like that name for some reason. I like how it's unusual and unique, and it just seems like a very cool name to have.

I've always felt that on the scale of celebrity baby names the Moore-Willis kids got off easy. Sure, Rumer, Scout and Tallulah aren't common names and yeah, okay, those are odd names but really it could be worse.

Pilot Inspektor and Audio Science anyone?

And it's not bad enough that poor little Audio Science is stuck with the name Audio Science. Oh no, the poor kid also has to deal with everyone thinking he's a she because of his crappy name.

I say, suck it up Moore-Willis kids. Suck it up.

Amusingly, the original Rumer, after whom the sprog was named, claimed never to have heard of Demi Moore...She coped with being called Rumer without benefit of squillionaire parents so I'm sure Young Rumer will manage.

Angel Iris is sickly sweet. At least she can go by Iris one day though, which is more than Bluebell Madonna can say. Still, I would have preferred Angela Iris or even Iris Angel.

Awww, I like the name Angel Iris. Now, Angel Iris Murphy Brown is a bit much. I guess kids in little Angel's generation will have no clue who Murphy Brown was, so it won't matter that much, but for me? HEE!

I have a cousin named Angel and had a HUGE crush on a boy named Angel in middle school, so I guess the name isn't really unusual here.

Angel Iris Murphy Brown IS a bit much, but at least the Murphy Brown parts come from somewhere and isn't a pop culture thing ala Kal El, Nicolas Cage's poor kid.

I don't really like the name Angel, since it reminds me of a stripper's name.

Iris isn't much better, at least not to me, since I went to school with a very slutty girl named Iris. She later became a stripper. Yikes, two stripper names in one? Poor kid.

Poubelle- 04-26-2007
Heh, that's weird. I went to school with a girl named Iris, and she was very quiet and bookish. Last I heard, she was going to eitheir Princeton or Yale, I think.

The only Iris I knew personally was my best friends grandma. And theres Iris Murdoch.

Unlucky Bear- 04-26-2007
Angel Iris Murphy Brown sounds like a jump rope rhyme to me, like AN-gel I-ris MUR-phy BROWN!

Poubelle- 04-26-2007
Angel Iris Murphy Brown
Took the last train into town
There she bought a brand new dress
But now she's in quite a mess
On the way back she got lost
Now how much will her trip cost?
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 . . .

Unlucky Bear- 04-27-2007
Thank you, poubelle, I was trying to come up with an appropriate rhyme to back up my theory. Tip of the hat to you, dude.
